I stayed in Hotel OLIVIER for 3 weeks, for a business trip to Luxembourg in a duplex room which is quite spacious and comfortable.||||What I liked:||||1. The room is spacious and well appointed, especially if you are there for business and need a desk and an area to work. Also, lots of storage. ||||2. Although it was on the ground floor it was very quite.||||3. All the personnel working in the Hotel are EXCELLENT!! Very polite and helpful they try to do their best to make you feel comfortable. Special mention to the 2 waiters in the restaurant (Italian & French) and Ariadni (hope I got her name correctly) in the reception. But each and everyone were truly great in their job! ||||4. Breakfast may have a small variety, but everything is fresh, tasty and of high quality. You can even order your eggs the way you want them and also a crepe as well, but only on weekdays. ||||5. The food in the restaurant is excellent as well.||||6. Lots of parking space (if you have a car)||||7. Quite||||8. There is a mini market exactly opposite of the hotel, which is open until 22:00 an you can buy food, drinks, fruits etc.||||9. Although the hotel is not centrally located, there is a bus stop (bus 28) exactly opposite, which take you straight to the center and up to the train station. ||||10. Fast laundry service.||||11. There is a kitchen in the room in case you need it. ||||12. There is a tablet in the rooms in order to check basic information about the hotel, the menu etc.||||13. Cleaning ladies were very good.||||||What I did not like:||||1. Restaurant is closed on the weekends||||2. The option of ordering crepes and eggs they way you ant them is not available on the weekends. Still it is good, but I would like to have the option on the weekends as well. Also, I find it very expensive to charge you €6.50 for freshly squeezed orange juice, it should be part of the breakfast.||||3. The room (007) needs refurbishing. It was clean but you could see that the walls need painting, as well as the staircase rails. The electrical installation of the A/C was visible. The bathroom had old fittings and also not a mix tap (I see from pictures that some rooms have renovated bathrooms). The drawers in the ground floor were cracked inside and the batteries on the safe deposit box had leaked and it was not working (but it is my fault that I forgot to mention it, maybe they would have them replaced), but my point is that I believe someone (maintenance maybe?) should frequently (especially after a checkout) check the rooms for what is not working or needs fixing. ||||4. the chairs in my room were almost about to break. Of course they changed them immediately (once I registered my complain online with the tablet in the room), but I believe that someone should have had to notice it before my check in.||||5. I understand that some visitors who stay for a few months may need a kitchen (although mine had no utensils, pans or anything else to use). However, they can convert some of these rooms to be without kitchen and instead have a much larger sitting area, or a bathroom downstairs. ||||6. I would like to change the door key, to a more modern electronic lock with a card or PIN system. I did not like to carry my key with me, so most of the time I left it to the reception.||||7. I would like some more lights or stronger bulbs. I find the lighting in the room a bit dull.||||8. There are nice restaurants in the area, within walking distance from the hotel (Comedia del Arte, Kimchi & Il Destino come in mind)||||Overall it is a very good hotel and I would stay there again (in fact I will on June). But I believe there is room for improvement, especially in the area of renovating the rooms. Also, I would like (I know it requires another shift) the restaurant to be open on the weekends, but I can understand if they do not operate it because the demand...
Read moreStayed here one night, it was booked by a client of us. Arrived late night, had to check in vis a doorcode, which worked well. My room was a small apartment, with a living room and kitchen on the ground floor and a bed and bathroom on the mezzanine floor. If you like to shoot a movie in an early eighties timing, come here! The styling of the room is sill eighties, nothing changed! The windows are not transparant, which in combination with the eighties look provided a very uncomfortable feeling. Never take your partner to this hotel for a romantic getaway. Hotel room was clean.||||The staff next morning during breakfast was very friendly. Breakfast is not a buffet, but served. ||||Conclusion: I slept well in a clean spacious room. If you are only looking for this, Hotel Olivier is fulfilling your requirements, don't...
