Uncle Chua Signatures - Dungun — Restaurant in Dungun

Edit(2023.01.11) All the food we ordered were disappointing, especially the salmon which seemed like it had been in the freezer for a long time. Taking 1 star off. Recommendation? Don't order something you have not ordered before. Just stick to what you like.

Edit(2023.01.09) Everything is the same but I do agree with other reviewers the staff need some basic training. Should greet customer. Repeat the order Ask customer when delivering food where they should place them.

I hope the management would train the staff as that won't cost them arms and legs and would certainly help in the long run.

I would no longer recommend the chicken wings as they are not the same as before. Fish and Chips are also not as good. Tartar sauce was just mayonnaise.

On the other hand, I would recommend Fried Oyster Mushroom. It's basically oyster mushroom fried and mixed with creamy butter sauce(as in creamy butter prawn)

The rest seems to be as good as before.

Edit(2019.07.16) Taking one star off. They had Durian Ice Blended this time and Mee Tomyam soup still taste strong. But the portion has reduced a lot. This seems to be a trend now.

Love the spagetti and chicken wings. Must try the Durian Ice Blend. If you are foreigner, I would recommend this place. 1. Hygene 2. Can get familiar food and local dish. 3. Reasonable price. And for those who believe this restaurant is not halal, you can check halal...

These days many Msian restaurant depend so much on foreign workers in the kitchen in the service etc... These workers are often lack of knowledge in hygienes and customers service... Therefore, the Owner/Manager has to teach them both of these important skills in handling food and customers.

My second time there were total disappointment. 1.Chicken Bolognese were spicy,thou mild, as my young girls looking forward to the pasta dish end up with empty stomach. MR.CHUA,pls indicate in menu. 2.Chicken chop size were smaller than a piece of Gardenia bread n its BBQ sauce is also spicy - MR.CHUA menu did not indicate! Dry pan mee total disaster.pls look at the photo/video attached. How is it possible to serve it to customers? Confronted the staff (also attached photo) He was worse than the pan mee,totally rude! MR.CHUA,training to your foreign staff please or else they will RUN DOWN ur place soon!

Anyway, judging at the quality and hygiene of the food n people handling it, I wonder why there are still so many people dining...

This was my first visit to Uncle Chua in Dungun, and unfortunately, I left a little disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend ordering the Western food here, as the taste was quite bland and lacked flavor.

On a positive note, the service was pleasant, and the restaurant itself is very clean, comfortable, and family-friendly—even suitable for babies. However, I noticed that most of the staff were foreigners, which made it a bit harder to feel that local connection. I do hope to see more local staff in the future. Well sekarang ni semua nak lokal kan. Please hired local people more.

That said, the Chinese dishes looked much more promising, so perhaps the restaurant is better known for that. I might give it another try and focus on their Chinese...
