Delightful Dinner at the Tin Hau Temple Restaurant
I recently had the pleasure of dining at the new restaurant located next to the Tin Hau Temple, and I must say, it was a truly delightful experience. The restaurant owner was incredibly kind and took the time to introduce us to their menu and offerings.
The chef first confirms the price of some of the seafood with customers before preparing the dish (this is normal that sometimes the seafood price not mark on the menu). This level of transparency and personalized service is a refreshing change from the norm.
He will confirm the quantity do you want and cook it. So you can have more space for other food hahahaha.
As for the food, it was absolutely amazing. We sampled a variety of dishes, including the golden shrimp (golden egg with seaweed🥹), creamy scrambled egg with rice noodles, grilled stingray, and stir-fried broccoli. Every single one was bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. The chef's experience in hotel kitchens is clearly evident in the quality of the cuisine.
What really stood out, however, was the reasonable pricing of both the food and drinks. In a city where dining out can often be quite expensive, this restaurant offers an exceptional value proposition.
If you're in the mood for authentic and delicious Chinese cuisine in the area, I would highly recommend giving this new establishment a try. The friendly owner, fantastic food, and wallet-friendly prices 🤭make it a truly memorable...

Read moreThe food was delicious. We stayed at angsana resort for 3 nights and have tried a few local restaurants in the area. It was really hot and humid and the restaurant doesn't have air conditioning so we opted for takewawy to have at our resort. I have to say the food here is the best we've had of all the places we've tried in this part of Penang. We ordered the grilled sting ray which I highly recommend as it was sooo delicious! It was so fresh and didn't give off any fishy taste! They had this tangy sauce that paired so well with the grilled fish, it reminds me of a Thai style sauce that's perfectly balanced between sweet, tangy and salty. It's the best grilled stingray we've ever had to be honest. We also ordered golden sands pork (similar to Malaysian salt egg cereal) which was crispy and also delicious. Fried rice was also very tasty and not too oily. Stired fried garlic broccoli and kai lan were crunchy and not too salty. My kids enjoyed the vegetables too. The only thing I could fault was discovering this place on the last night...
