So-so and disappointed. Came here last time when they were newly opened. I wasn’t able to order anything due to my own time constraints but my husband did and he said the food wasn’t bad. . . Just went again yesterday to try for myself. Looked at other reviewers with pictures of an extensive menu. Unfortunately, (1) menu was cut short to just a 2 page laminated menu. Still quite a variety. But no more wraps or what used to be a thick booklet that brings elegance to the cafe. . . (2) Their tea is good! So if you’re gonna have some afternoon tea to chat with friends, I recommend this place. Though the (3) ambience can create quite an echo which makes you feel like your conversations can be heard by others too. . . (4) Most of their “claypot” varieties have been removed and changed to using just regular bowls. . . I ordered tomyum noodles, hainan grilled chicken, and curry mee. . . (5) Tomyum was so so. But it doesn’t taste like tomyum. It’s spicy though. Onsen egg came out burst and ruined. The chicken breast slices tasted dry. The whole dish didn’t blend well together. . . (6) Hainan grilled chicken tasted grilled. Wedges were good and crisp. But the sauce.. it has chunks of onion, pineapple and cucumbers. Served in a saucer that was a little challenging to remove those chunks. Should’ve been served in a side bowl/ramekins. The sauce tasted like thicken ketchup 🤷🏻♀️ . . (6) Curry mee was good. Tasted like malay style curry mee. Good kick of spice. . . (7) Restaurant crew is seen occupying a couple tables facing the entrance. Things just seemed cluttered. In my honest opinion, employees/employers should have their own work stations or lounge area hidden from the sight of customers enjoying their food experience. One staff was seen sitting but in a lazy lounging position which makes it look like they’re not respecting a space meant for food. Nothing wrong with how the staff decides to rest, but the employer should provide a designated space for employees to keep their belongings (water bottles/papers/computers). . . (8) Hygiene wise… ok lah I guess. . . (9) Price… for such an experience, it doesn’t really justify. . . Just my two cents. Thanks for reading. Hope they improve based...
Read moreI wanna say that the menu does not effect my review. It doesn't matter if it is laminated, 1 page, half page or in any form. Although I may critique or give credit to it. Finally, wish to add that the menu has multiple pages and it looks quite nice.
Ordered the Signature Coffee. I think because of high expectations based on some of the reviews here, kind of disappointing to me. However, it is still good coffee.
Signature Laksa also because of reviews, I ordered it. I like it. I think it is good. It seems to me in Melaka, Fishball, Fishcakes are included generously in many noodles dishes I've ordered here. I'm not complaining just that my wife prefer natural ingredients (I think)
Why 4 stars? OMG! It is so FREAKING HOT la... Especially after eating the Curry Mee. Sigh. Quite mad about this. Maybe will try the Nyonya Laksa but only if the weather is...
Read moreThe four of us were looking for a 'chinese' restaurant after our golf game at Tiara Melaka Golf Club. We googled and found this place which looked like the closest to the club. The road to get there was winding and slightly confusing, we realized when we got there it's a newly-developed commercial area. When we sat down and looked at the menu, we were very disappointed that it had no dishes you could order to share! All items on the menu is designed for a 1 person meal. Rice with chicken, rice with veges, noodle soup, curry noodles etc. It's also a halal-restaurant, ideal for muslims of course but we wanted a fuller menu. I think it's targetting workers who primarily work in that area, not for families or groups like ours. Food and service was OK, but we would not drive out of our way...
