was in Malacca for a 5 days work trip and was craving for Japanese cuisine on the last night of my stay here.I googled and decided to came here for a try , I was seated at the Sushi bar area as i was coming alone.Love the environment and food here are way too scrumptious.Japanese cuisine here offers an abundance of Gastronomical delights with a boundless variety of regional and seasonal dishes. One dish that im very particular about whenever i go to a Japanese restaurant is "Tamago" either its Atsuyaki Tamago aka Tamagoyaki or Dashimaki Tamago. This talented young chef by the name of Daryl really nailed the tamago and other dishes that night.Texture of the tamago was firm , dense , moist , umami flavour totally spot on and it was cooked to perfection. Some chefs in other restaurants tend to overcooked the egg which i dislike the most. While spending almost 2 hours at the sushi bar , i get to observe Daryls work of art and attention to details. His slicing skills was very precise and plating was mind blowing neat.furthermore , chef Daryl tends to always clean his tools and cutting board once he finishes his task every few minutes as he told me Hygiene is very important in his field and me as a customer im very delightful to hear about that.Lastly kudos to Daryl and his team for providing me one of the best service throughout the night.Fugo Ryori Batu Berendam is the best Japanese Restaurant in Malacca and one of the best in Malaysia that ive tasted so far.If anyone is in Malacca please give it try here in Fugo Ryori Batu Berendam and don`t forget to look for Chef Daryl as i believe he and his team will give you an unforgettable experience desperately coming back for more.Once again Thank you Fyugo Ryori for the amazing...

I must say, chef daryl is literally like the anime in shokugeki no souma where he aspires to become a full-time chef in his father Joichiro's family restaurant and surpass his father's culinary skills, but Joichiro gets a new job that requires him to travel around the world and closes his shop. Joichiro has Soma enroll in Totsuki Saryo Culinary Institute, an elite culinary school where students engage in food competitions called shokugeki. He secures himself a spot at the school, despite the objections of Erina Nakiri, the talented granddaughter of the school's dean. Soma is assigned to Polaris Dormitory where he meets other aspiring chefs, including Megumi Tadokoro. The story follows his adventures as he interacts with his peers and challenges Totsuki's students as well as others in shokugeki competitions. Learning that his father was not only a student of Totsuki, but also the second seat in the Council of Ten; Soma plans on becoming the best at the academy. Oh ya...
Read moreUpon entrance, restaurant settings look pleasing enough. Having made reservation, no preparations were done to any table, guests were shown to a table and set by the guests themselves. Probably, a norm in Malaysia.
Service was done by untrained staffs, purely due to poor organisation by management, whom I might added was surly and indifferent to arrival of customers, preferring stock-taking to seeing to guests.
Main courses arrived before starters, which were sent back to the kitchen...then returned to the table before our starters were done. The cardinal sin is that the same plates which were sent back earlier were dished out, alas food were cold. My tempura faired badly, the miso soup failed and rice looks like the plastic ones displayed on restaurants' window.
If only, the coordination of food ordered was better organised, it would have been a satisfying luncheon experience.
I believe it all down to the complacency of the man in grey......
