Was there for brunch. Judging from the reviews, I assume this place is owned by a Turkish national, but there was nothing remotely Turkish about the food that I ordered. I usually gauge how good a brunch place is by either their signature breakfast or their eggs benedict. Since there was no eggs benedict on the menu, I went with their signature big breakfast.
As can be seen from my photo, description of the food does not match with what was actually presented. For one, the cherry tomatoes are missing. The scrambled eggs are dry, not silky as described. The beef bacon was replaced by beef ham. I mean, if there are substitutes to be made, it would be nice to just inform your customer. But to be fair, the sausage was juicy, the beef ham was tasty, the tatter tots (or hash brown bites) was nice and crispy. But these are items that are bought from a supplier and not made in-house, correct? The only 3 things on the plate that are really made in-house were the scrambled eggs, sautéed mushrooms and salad, and they already failed at their scrambled eggs. The mocha coffee was nice though.
The cost for the meal was over RM50 for 1 person. This is ok, but for that price, I would have expected the staff to be more attentive. The 2 staff present made no effort to engage the customers at all asking if the food was ok etc. In fact it was me thanking the waitress each time she served me the food and drinks but without any acknowledgment like "You're welcomed" from her at all. And it was only after I paid up and visited the toilet that I discovered along the way that there were condiments and like mayonnaise, salt & pepper that I could have with my otherwise dry salad. Likewise, there's no one to tell you they hope to see you again etc after you paid up or when you open the door to leave. And that is when there's only 3 occupied tables which were already served with their foods.
If I did not communicate the above well, let me re-phrase : There are places where you just pay RM10 for a meal and have your hunger satisfied. But where you have to pay so much more like at this place, you not only go for the food, you are there for an experience (correct me if I'm wrong) And for this, this place has failed. What is that motivating factor here that makes a customer want to return again??What is more ironic is I assumed this place is owned by a westerner and that they would have a better grasp of what service &...
Read moreWould have easily been a 5 star review if not for the non existent service and loud chatting of the staffs when the cafe was empty on a Sunday evening.
Tried reaching out to the company on IG before posting this, gave them one full working day to reply and there's still no reply thus writing this review here.
When we first reached the place, we waited outside going through the menu but no one came out or even noticed us for awhile.
We went into the cafe ourselves, your 2 female staffs noticed us but there was no hello, no exchange of anything just stood there as though we were supposed to know what to do there.
My wife took a menu, since the staffs didn't seem to be interested in helping us out, and we went on to find seats for ourselves. An additional menu was then only passed to us after awhile as we only had a single menu from which my wife took.
While trying to order, we can't help to note that no one bothered asking if we are ready to order, your both service staff had no other customers to attend to.
While the drink and food was being placed onto our table, there was no comment or exchanges at all from your service staff, do note that I actually made a point to say thank you each time something was placed onto the table, yet there was no verbal exchange once again from your staff serving the food.
Even when my wife was making payment, your staff didn't even said a single thing
Your staffs were happily chatting loudly while we were having our dinner, we did not feel welcomed at the place at all.
I'm just raising these up so that maybe you might look into it, we do like the way the cafe is set up but the whole experience from the non existent customer service was really a huge turn down and it makes us feel like we were not welcomed at the place at all.
My experience feels totally like the other review other than the food, food was good, especially the pizza, but the service attitude makes you wonder if they even want you there.
We ordered a lot of food for 2 pax just to try...
Read moreLovely Hidden Gem in JB – Jardin Cafe
I stumbled upon Jardin Cafe during a quick getaway to JB, and I’m so glad I did! The moment I walked in, I was greeted with calming greenery, soft lighting, and the most peaceful atmosphere, it honestly felt like a mini escape from the busy city.
The staff were super friendly and attentive, and the service was quick but relaxed (which I really appreciate in a café setting). I ordered a latte and their signature bagal (I think it was a smoked salmon & cream cheese bagel ?) both were amazing. The coffee was smooth and flavorful, and the bagel had just the right amount of goodness.
Whether you're catching up with friends, getting some work done, or just treating yourself to some quiet time, Jardin Cafe is the perfect spot. I’ll definitely be back on my next trip to...
