Read moreDefinitely the largest bowl of soup Wanton noodle I've eaten for $6.50. Only order large if you've a voracious appetite or starving until you can eat a horse. So beware when making your choice.
Coming to the taste & texture of the noodle. The soup tasted good with a hint of 'tang gui' added but isn't up to my expectation. I'd reckon if anchovies-base soup would complemented the choice of homemade noodle here.
After a while I'm quite thirsty, so msg is added to the soup (i finished the soup BTW). The noodle is homemade with lots of eggs that makes it very smooth & soft. It's not to be compared with normal wanton noodle that's springy in texture.
Perhaps the time taken dipping into hot water while preparing it, should be shorten. It's a bit soggy when served. Restaurant is clean & comfortable while parking is very limited. Roadside parking is my choice for a quickie, be careful of parking fine. Back lane is a one-way street without allocated...
Read moreChew Chee Kedai Mee Dan Nasi is conveniently located along Tangkak’s main road. The shop is housed in an old but well-maintained building, complete with a beautiful mural inside, adding a nice touch to the ambiance.
The menu features roasted chicken, Hainanese chicken, and char siew, which can be paired with wantan noodles or rice. We tried the char siew wantan noodle and Hainanese chicken with mee pok. While the char siew was average, the Hainanese chicken and noodles were great.
We also ordered wantan soup. The wantan skins were a bit thick, and the filling was on the lighter side, but the soup itself had a lovely flavor.
For those interested, the shop also sells frozen wantan noodles. However, note that the noodles need to be refrigerated, so they’re not ideal for those traveling around.
Overall, a good spot for a hearty meal with standout Hainanese chicken and noodles. Definitely worth a visit if...
