Kou Foo Siang Siang @ Batu Pahat – Honest Review
Stopped by for lunch after a recommendation. Here's what we had:
Half Red Snapper Assam Fish Head – Quite large in size. The flavour was mild (less sour, less curry-like than Muar-style). The front part was okay, but the belly portion had that “fridge smell”. Sadly, that smell lingered in my mouth even after the meal — quite off-putting.
Fried Oyster Omelette – Crispy and flavourful, really enjoyed this one.
Stir-fried Sweet Potato Leaves – Nicely cooked, just a bit salty.
2 rice, 1 Lo Han Guo drink, 1 coffee
💸 Total: RM105.80 No itemized bill was given, which makes it hard to justify the cost for each dish.
🪑 Ambience: Clean place with nostalgic old-school Chinese songs playing — very pleasant environment.
📝 Final Thoughts: The oyster dish and veggie were good, and the environment was enjoyable. But the fridge-smelling fish (and the lingering taste) really ruined the experience. For the price, I expected better freshness and transparency. Might be a one-time...
