We have been loyal Tea Garden and KuVunCha customers for a long time but the quality at their branches has dropped. It is a ripoff with unworthy exhorbitant prices.
We ordered 2 bowls of TauFooFas with Gula Melaka at RM 6.50 per bowl only to be served with cold and watery brown sugar consistency Gula Melaka. When we pointed out that this was not the standard and a rip off of their Gula Melaka (which used to be thick) and it is the second time their chain has done this to us, the staff, a foreigner, stood his ground and tried teaching us, a Malaysian family, how a Gula Melaka was supposed to be. You can see how this did not end well.
In his defence, he suggested to warm our bowl in the microwave. But took the feedback on the Gula Melaka a bit too personally, while getting his kitchen staff to hold up a packet of the syrup, implying that there was no diluting and we as locals did not know our own tastebuds and food?
Good try, buddy. We can vouch for a fact your chain has been diluting it (the sugar, not the price)
I found the entire episode ironically funny while my dad was not amused at their manner and we returned their dish which they accepted in the end to not charge us, but it was all too late. Try handling customer feedback more professionally without getting defensive. The whole experience left a sour note.
In addition to the lack of staff training to accept and escalate customer feedback, their diluted dessert of RM 6.50 per bowl pales in comparison to a RM 1.50 hawker style one that is warm and with thicker sugar syrup consistency.
A few of my friends have also noted similar drop in quality and unjustified increase in price and this place is no longer what it used to be. Can eat here if you have money to waste.
Avoid these establishments all cost. If you charge such prices, hold yourself accountable to maintaining delicious food and professional standards. Otherwise, your customers will find out your hidden tricks....
ย ย ย Read moreUsually franchises or branches have similar tastes, but this one in Senai tops everything. The food here taste really good. The chicken/mutton curry is awesome. The Kaya wheat toast also worth a try. The sight of it makes me drool โบ๏ธ๐
Then the Puro coffee C, it is filled with oooomph. But make sure to stir, the sugar is right at the bottom. Haha.
Here comes the bad part : the waiting time can be quite painful. A few times they waiters brought the wrong dish and they aren't as friendly as they supposed to be.
But don't let the cons put you off... Take a "makan-makan" trip to this joint. You will love it.
11jul18 : another countless visit. I ordered the Mutton rendang cheese baked rice. A real replete ๐. The meat was tender and the rice & cheese were...
ย ย ย Read moreAnimal cruelty in front of customers!!! The staff didn't greet me and were very grumpy and unfriendly to begin with. I was sitting outside and one of the staff carried a cat out of the restaurant and locked into another room (like an office or something) behind a wooden door. When a female staff member exited this room, the cat followed her and was just sitting outside. Another staff member came out, walked by the cat and smacked her with a menu, that it even made a loud sound on the cats body. The cat meowed in pain and ran away. When I asked, why he did it, he just smiled and walked away. Absolutely disgusting and unnecessary behaviour! Don't go there if you care...
