Teluk Sengat Seafood Restaurant — Restaurant in Johor

I arrived there on a Monday 5pm and there’s no customers. The firefly first ferry at 8pm, and was advised to just walk in. So we turn around & exit to eat elsewhere. Hmm frankly I’m only there for the firefly so I can’t comment on the taste for the food. However if you’re concern about hygiene & cleanliness, be prepared for a kelong experience and my family (w a 2yo wasn’t ready for it). You’ll need to walk down a rather steep metal plate cross the kelong to reach the restaurant. Not suitable for wheelchair. There’s no need to pre book for firefly ferry. For the ferry experience was great! There’s some splashing of water onto the mangrove to trigger the firefly, and some of them fell straight into the water just for our viewing. Just want to share my POV. Good stars view though! Wouldn’t be able to capture any fireflies or stars on camera. Generally from ticketing to the end of the ferry trip everything goes smoothly without and hassle....

Food was expensive. Definitely not value for money. Ordered the fried chicken which was bland, the nyonya fish (supposed to be chef recommendation) but sauce was too salty and not spicy. The steamed prawns was the most horrible. I had to spit out a chunk of ajinimoto seasoning powder which was obviously not stirred well before the prawns was steamed. To be fair, the fish and prawns were fresh but the way the food was prepared was truly disappointing. Please if you need to have a meal go opposite and order one of the mee soup special from the stalls, you would not regret it! Thats what we did after we...

Highly overated! Nothing against the owner... Had salted egg crab, steam garlic prawn, baby squid, nyonya fish, kangkong and mee goreng. Food was mediocre at best, heavy on the salt... Mee goreng (not Malay style) was a let down, just plain fried noodle w a couple of large prawns to justify the high price. Unfortunately, it claims to be v popular... I wouldn't say the meal is cheap nor is it expensive when u do the conversion... Cant help thinking that the Google rating was rigged... i hv tasted better seafood elsewhere in...
