Nasi Ayam Tat — Restaurant in Kedah

My sister introduced this fantastic chicken rice restaurant. The place was quite busy when we got there, it must be excellent! To enjoy their chicken rice, I had to stay in line to place the order. There’s a regular and special chicken rice to choose from, and I ordered the special one for me. The difference between regular and special is the size of the chicken and the amount of gravy. On my first bite, I flipped because it was so delicious! I think we have a winner here! Best chicken rice in this town. We also ordered satay from next door cafe. Wow! Another excellent dish! Super authentic Malay-style satay with peanut sauce that I can’t get in NY! We loved this place. The women behind the counter who prepared the chicken rice were lovely, helpful, and hardworking....

First time sitting here to dine in and already not a good experience. Came here for dinner around 6.45pm. Just our table ordering food. I ordered Nasi Ayam Tat. My other family members ordered beef burgers. They got their burgers within 20 minutes, whereas my order was lost. After more than half an hour, I asked about my chicken rice and a staff told me they are preparing it. Then after 5 minutes, the staff came back and told me they just start to prepare the chicken rice. After more than half and hour and I realised they may not even put in my order. I just cancelled. I felt really disappointed with this kind of service. Maybe they don't need the business? So...

If you're in Alor Setar and never heard of Tat's Nasi Ayam, then you may have come from another world!! This restaurant serves one of the best nasi ayam in the city for years now. The atmosphere may not be as good as an air-conditioned one but that does not cause customers to shy away.

The location is easily-accessible as the row of shops fronts the Lebuhraya Sultanah, one of the well-known roads in the city. And there are lots of car parking bays around it.
