Texas Chicken Stesen Caltex, Sungai Petani DT — Restaurant in Kedah

Last night 13th May 2023, the outlet drew a big crowd because it was a Saturday. Even with a big crowd the outlet was clean and well maintained and orderly not like some other fastfood outlets which gets dirty and not attended to. Because of the clean environment in a very packed outlet I gave it a 5. Service wise with the crowd the staff was capable of handling everything from orders properly to the presentation of food. So it gets a 4 due to the fact they are trained for it and I didn't see any staff doing out of their end to make that service better to get a 5*. Now comes the food. The food came out a bit overcooked and dry. The taste like they cooked it in heavy used oil without it changed to keep the Texas Chicken standard taste intact. The chicken was not tasty as my previous visits. The drinks were watered down and tasteless like the milkmaid juice didn't taste like they should. The gas drinks as well. There was lack of ice which makes the drinks even bad. I'm sure on an any given day without the crowd it should be better but as a fast food outlets having the standard food taste and preparations and drinks which are very plug and play these things should be like I said "Standard" settings. Still I will come back to this outlet as it is still the place I go for my Texas...

I ordered 8 spicy tex supreme & 8 tex wrap ori, all ala carte. Then, while they were preparing my order, I added 1 more wrap. The first order was done in 10 minutes. But they forgot my 2nd order. 5 mins later, when I asked what's the hold up, the lady at the counter said that they were still preparing it in the kitchen. About 10 mins later, the kitchen staff asked the lady at the counter "ada apa lagi?" Apparently she still hadn't prepared my 2nd order. By now my 1st order had been sitting there getting cold. They took another 5 mins to complete my 2nd order which was just 1 miserable wrap. All the while, the outlet manager didn't do a thing...accept avoid my dirty looks. Moreover, no apology given. Very "tidak apa" attitude. Fyi, there weren't many customers that morning. Overall, they took almost half an hour to complete my order. IMHO, this is not fast food service which is supposed to be convenient. The service at this Texas Chicken outlet is a sheer utter joke. Seriously, I've had much faster and better service at a...

The service need some improvement because it is clear that ordering through drive thru is a problem. We waited for a while (slow service) to get our order and customers behind us were getting their orders first which isn’t fair (the order numbers aren’t being followed correctly). When it’s our turn to order, some of the food are either sold out or are at their last quantity which is strange.

The spicy fried chicken is good (but not fresh just by looking at the bones) and the size is larger than the fried chickens in KFC. Other mentions should go to the mash potatoes, fries, bottomless drinks, and delicious honey butter biscuits. However, not everything was perfectly made. The chicken wrap was dry and tough on one side so we didn’t enjoy it as much and the coleslaw isn’t very good (salad dressing has a powdery feeling).

The price of the food was a little expensive when you compare it to McDonald’s and KFC but it depends on what you want to eat. I see the fried chicken as the main reason why I would come again...
