Not like what what I have remembered growing up with.
The Nasi Lemak and the chicken is not the same anymore and no longer taste any good. The rice is dry, the sambal has no more 'kick' like how Mali's Corner was and the chicken is no longer taste good.
The place looks cleaner and updated. But the waiting line and order system is more confusing. You need to order drink at the Nasi Lemak or Kuey Teow line and show receipt to the drink guy on the other side which sounds systematic and useful. Until you try ordering specific things like Kopi O Ais but the receipt say Kopi. When handing over to the guy he will ask Ais or not Ais which then you reply with Ais but forgotten to say O and he give Kopi Ais (contains sugar). As a first timer visiting may be annoyed in this.
Overall, I have been coming to Mali's Corner for 5 years but absent really for 3 years. And my verdict is I have decided not to return back here again as the Nasi Lemak is not how it used to be. If any good news about the Nasi Lemak is fixed, I will return...
Read moreOverall: This shop only sells 2 menus. Nasi lemak & char kuew tiaw. No other food. You can request add on Sambal as well. The beauty of this shop lies in its sambal nasi lemak & char kuew tiaw. It's not that these 2 types of food are the tastiest in KL, but they just nice. For spicy lovers, the sambal is not spicy at all but it is still delicious. You can also find satay here but you have to order from the other stall.
For those who like Chinese Street food, you can also find it around this area. There are a row of Chinese stalls along the way. Suitable for Chinese food lovers.
Location: This shop has been here for more than 10 years. The location is very strategic. Parking is on the side of the road. There is no designated parking. Behind this shop there is a kk mart & news shop so if you want to buy any necessities, everything is here.
Taste: The food taste is the same as before. Not changed at all!
TIPS: Peak hour after 8pm so make sure you come early. Else, you need to wait for your seat.
Choose your seat, queue - if you want to eat only nasi lemak, queue on the right side. If you want to order Char Kuew Tiaw, que at left side. If you want to eat both, queue on the left side. Once complete your order, pay for food and drinks. Do not throw away the receipt because you have to show it at the drink counter to claim your drinks. Self service, you need to bring the food & drinks by yourself to your table
CONS I never noticed about it but this time I just realized that the banana leave that they used is not properly being clean up. You can see white spot on the banana leaves ++++++++++
Keseluruhan : 2 menu je kedai ni jual. Nasi lemak & char kuew tiaw. Takde makanan lain. Sambal boleh request tambah. Kelebihan kedai ni terletak pada sambal nasi lemaknya & char kuew tiaw nya. Tidaklah kata 2 jenis makanan ni terpaling sedap di KL tapi rasanya not bad. Just nice.
Sesuai utk pengemar makanan Cina
Lokasi : Berbelas tahun dah kedai ni bertapak kat sini. Strategic lokasila. Parking kat tepi jalan. Takde designated parking ya. Belakang warung ni ada kk mart & News so kalau kau nak beli brg2 keperluan, ngam la dtg sini. Sambil makan. Sambil beli barang. 2 in 1 gitu
Rasa : Rasa sama macam dulu. Tak berubah.
TIPS : Peak hour after 8pm so pastikan korang datang awal. Else, kau tunggula seat 0. Cop tempat duduk, beratur - kalau nak makan nasi lemak saja, beratur belah kanan. Nak order Char Kuew Tiaw, belah kiri. Nak makan 2 2, beratur belah kiri. Dah settle order, bayar makanan n air. Resit jangan buang sebab kena tunjuk kat tempat penyediaan air. Baru dapat air korang. Kalau hilang, pandai2 lah kau explain kat pembuat air. Sini self servis, makanan & minumman kau kena ambil n letak sendiri kat tmpt duduk kau
CONS Aku baru perasan part ni. Alas daun pisang yang digunakan untuk nasi lemak tak dibersihkan betul-betul. Kau akan nampak spot putih kat alas...
Read moreThe original Mail corner which used to be my hangout place once upon a time ago 😇 They serve only two types of food, of course Malaysian most famous and favourite food, the nasi lemak and char kuey teow. I have to say one of my most favourite char kuey teow because the taste and quality is consistent, although I can’t say the same for the branch in platinum walk. For one, the prawn used here are still large. It’s not a five because the sambal is still the same - which could be a good thing for their fans - but I’m not a lover of sweet sambal, savoury should remain a balance of salt and chicken broth - and the one served here is sweet than most I have tasted, chicken however remains big and tasty. They now serve drinks in disposable cups …. 😬 Anyways for a quick bite and to hang with your pals, stop by for affordable and all-day nasi...
