I came to buy nasi lemak at Nasi Lemak Saleha, Sri Rampai Setapak branch yesterday 11 August 2025, and was really disappointed with the experience. There was only one lady in front of me, buying 5 nasi lemak and some rendang. Yet I had to wait almost 20 minutes just to get 2 nasi lemak daun pisang.

The reason? Staff shortage. The same person preparing the nasi lemak was also handling the cashier. It’s frustrating to waste that much time for something that should be quick.

To the Owner of Nasi Lemak Saleha, please ensure you allocate enough staff at the Sri Rampai branch. Don’t just focus on Ampang. I’m a regular customer at your Ampang outlet and always had a good experience there. But this visit to Sri Rampai left me disappointed.

I really hope you fix this issue soon, otherwise, I might have to look for another place to get my...

One of the top nasi lemak options in town!

Truly, the combination of rice and sambal is exceptional. The sambal strikes a perfect balance between mild spice and sweetness. Its flavor is so enjoyable that I'll definitely be returning with my family!

The chicken is cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of spice and served warmed. The portion size of the chicken is generous enough for one person.

The only downside is the portion of rice, which is too small. We had to order an extra portion just to satisfy our hunger. Additionally, it's strange that the nasi lemak doesn't come with peanuts and ikan bilis, as they're essential for the dish to feel complete. Priced at RM13.50 for such a small portion and lacking these traditional ingredients, it feels a bit overpriced. However, the delicious sambal somewhat...

The nasi lemak came with decent number of sides such as cockle sambal, beef rendang etc, the place was clean and there was even a small station making roti bakar.

The service needs tightening up. At the time of visit, the same person took our orders, served food and manned the till. This is while there's a whole team just to serve drinks. Out of three orders, one didn't turned up. Our subsequent request for plain water was ignored. The nasi lemak is too sticky, but this is just a personal dislike.

Located next door is a workshop. We were 'entertained' by the incessant and persistent revving of cars.

All in all, not what I wanted for a nice quiet breakfast. One star because today the place took a chunk of my money in compensation for their expensive menu but left me...

Rated as 1 of the 10 best nasi lemak in Kuala Lumpur. I usually buy their nasi lemak bungkus daun pisang ( beautifully wraped with banana leave hence gave an aromatic and added freshness to the nasi lemak) at the stall near my house but decided to try the food at their restaurant which is clean and with more side dishes to compliment the nasi lemak. They also have assorted malay cakes, yellow sticky rice, rendang and above all freshly fried chicken which was awesome. Their noodles menu is available at noon and the restaurant close at the 3 pm. Truely recommend their all time conventional nasi lemak bungkus daun pisang, a nostalgic meal irrespective of our millanium era.

The first time when I bought their nasi lemak was on a weekday. The nasi lemak was good as what was claimed by a lot of foodies. And I went back again on a Sunday to packed the nasi lemak for our lunch and what a great disappointment it was.... It doesn't have ikan bilis and they pack the rice in plastic packaging takeaway. What is nasi lemak where it does not have the simple basis ingredients? The rice is not fragrance without the banana leaf wrapping and if they ran out of ikan bilis, you have a working kitchen in the restaurant, please fry more! Dont compormise on the quality of the food just because its weekend and business is so damn good.
