We have be coming here quite regularly lately, with Daniel & Najwa in tow...

Today is our first visit after quite a long absence, and we were surprised to find that they have renovated the restaurant for a better practicality and ambiance...

We came here again with Najwa, as she had heard so much about this restaurant, but never had the chance to come here...This time, we sat at the other side...and this time, I managed to finish all my food!!👌😋😋😋

This was our first visit to this much talked about restaurant, after hearing some good reviews about it. My main concern was the spiciness level, clearly suggested by the name itself, as I dont tolerate spicy food. Fortunately, that was really a non issue, as the huge spread of food on display enabled you to pick and choose any dishes to your own peculiar liking!😋😋😋 What really surprised me was the number of people who kept coming in regardless of the time of the day...Last time I checked, today is a working day!! We arrived at 12 noon, but had to struggle to find a table for 4..Luckily, we got one at the far corner, and from there we could see all the comings and goings, and the various demographic of customers...satisfied customers... My wife quickly grabbed the biggest grilled calamaris she could find, along with my favorite chicken thighs, grilled stingray, ulam pegaga and ulam raja, and two pieces of ikan patin, which looked quite spicy to me..We ended up not even tasting that dish, for obvious reasons. As my cousin who is a regular here pointed out later, being from Temerloh, Pahang we are basically Patin Connoisseur, and could smell the authentic ikan patin from a mile away!!🤭🤭 As expected, we really couldnt finish all the dishes we ordered, and had to tapau the leftovers. But, feeling fully satisfied with the quality and variety of foods on offer, we quickly decided to make a return visit soon. So, until then, we will just have to wait, and dream about the huge...

This place has made quite a name for itself as evident from the horde of people I saw in my first visit during lunch hours. There is an open space parking allocated so that should help to alleviate some parking woes but again, the spaces may not be sufficient during meal times. Anyway, once I made my way into the restaurant, I was greeted with a huge variety of malay food and I was spoilt for choices as they all look tantalising to me. So you'll just need to grab a plate of rice and scoop up whatever dishes you prefer and one of their staffs will simply walk over to your table, tabulate your orders and give you a bill for payment at the counter once you're done with the food. It sure looked chaotic to me at first but easily manageable once you know how they operate. For our lunch, we ordered plain rice with ayam bakar, bergedil ayam, telur dadar, rendang daging, sop daging, telur sotong and telur masin. I personally love the ayam bakar because the marination was good and smoky in taste. Chicken was also quite tender and wasn't too dry. The rendang daging was also commendable. The chunks of beef and rich rendang sauce were well spiced without tasting too overwhelming. On the other hand, the sup daging was savory with a tinge of appetising tanginess. Once again, a well rounded version of this dish compared to the more heavier tasting ones served at other places. Telur dadar and bergedil both were alright and they served well to compliment your rice. I also love how the telur sotong was bouncy in texture and tasted equally good. Unfortunately I did not get to try their sambal this time around. Overall, a good place for malay dishes given the choices of food one can choose from. Taste wise, it generally ranged from average to...

We came very early, around 10.30am to avoid the lunch traffic. I have to say, as a foodie, i was very excited! Furthermore, we love our Minang/Padang cuisine! We came equipped with empty tummies, hungry and excited! Both my husband and son love the ‘tetel’ or the tendons. Both of them took the daging cincang (minced beef) as well, begedil, sambal kerang (cockles) and salted egg... I took a lot! The ayam goreng berempah, sayur pucuk paku, sayur kacang botol goreng and few more with lemak Ketam as gravy... The chicken was tender and juicy, however, the rest of the meal... Just fell flat. Totally tasteless... The food just lack flavour, like salty or sweet or just something... it was disappointing for us. I can’t even taste the crab flavour in the lemak ketam as it was watery and not thick as expected from Minang cuisine. The only flavor i got was when i eat the salted egg... I guess the hype is more on the variety of food offered... Place and parking are limited... Price is reasonable... we will come again to try and give it another go, perhaps on the day we came, they forgot to properly seasoned the food. Besides, i would love to ‘like’ this restaurant, Hence to cast any reasonable doubts, we will try again in the near future. These are all my humble opinions only. Perhaps your experience would...

I visited this place while I was in Malaysia and the main reason for my visit was the recommendation that came from "Chasing a plate" on YouTube. In their video the restaurant was packed with food, so many choices and different dishes. However on my visit I found the choices a little limited. This could be due to the time of the day I visited which was around 4pm and everything was soo cold. When you enter the restaurant you're given white rice on your plate which was also very cold. After getting your proton of rice you choose what you want. The food itself was very mediocre, not really tasty, just cold and dead. The staff in the restaurant are pretty nice and accommodating however they didn't speak any English which is a shame, however not the reason for the low rating as I don't expect someone from a different country to speak a foreign language. My ratings is low due to the actual food itself, it wasn't good. The price is pretty OK, but honestly you could get something much more delicious elsewhere. I wouldn't recommend this place in 5pm. Perhaps it's better earlier in the day, maybe morning when everything is hopefully warm.
