Seafarer Restaurant Sdn Bhd — Restaurant in Malacca

We have been pretty loyal to this restaurant, and we definitely visit once whenever we go to Malacca. However, we had a pathetic experience during our latest visit there, about a month ago. 7th November to be precise. We reached there for lunch with our friends, before heading back to KL. We had already told them good things about the food and the service. We ordered for the rice, mixed vegetables and kamheong crab. For about 45 minutes there was no sign of food. After nudging them they got us the mixed veggies with chicken, we had ordered for vegetarian dish so we had to send it back. Meanwhile, no sign of crab. We were told that delivery guys wait for orders so those are sent first. Meanwhile, we are patiently sitting for our turn. We finally got the mixed vegetables order after 20 odd minutes and it was correct this time. Everytime we asked about the crab, we were told it will be ready in 10 minutes. The ambience is beautiful so we were enjoying the breeze and patiently waiting. It was about 90 minutes since we arrived at the restaurant, and the server came to our table only to tell us that there is no stock of crabs, hence that order is cancelled. There was no apology or absolutely nothing, just a straight face! It was infuriating to say the least. After arguing the kamheong crab magically appeared in 10 minutes, the dish was more spicier than usual and the crab was bland, not marinated well at all. As if it was very last minute. We have recommended this place to a lot of friends, however after the last experience we wouldn't recommend it. The problem is not about the unavailability, this is very common and we are not difficult people to please. 90 minutes of no show proves that we are very patient. The issue was that there was no apology or remorse, and the lies about no stock is frustrating. If the stock was over it cannot magically appear in 10mins. Food : One of Fast food that consider you guys can still consider to add on your food list Hunter. most of their food will state the exact expired date!from their desert ,snack to their meals very delicious ,the only thing that sometimes disappointed me is their “Oden soup” Not consistent served!sometimes too liquid and the taste turn not really tasty. Could better if their soup serve following standard serving.

Its 27thOct.2023/dinner for 4,we had 5dishes-JENAH STEAM FISH(HongKong style)which is really fresh&lovely flesh with its brownish sauce poured at my bowl of hot rice;SQUID WITH PETAI which is good for your kidney that is why it makes your urine smelly after eating a petai,it cleanse our kidney;PRAWN WITH SALTED EGG is so creamy&tasty,though my first experienced of this recipe,its dried,deep fried prawn with salted egg,no regrets though,at least I’ve tasted both already;STEW PACHOY which is nice to eat by itself as a vegan myself,I always had greens for dinner.;POTATO LEAVES COOKED WITH MINCED GARLIC,this vegetable is good for anemic people like me which is normal for vegan.;CLAYPOT TAUFU,i love how they mixed carrot/broccoli/white button mushroom/Japanese taufu,its so creamy&tasty.Well..each of us got our own choice of drinks,i had my water with lemon,others got fragrance coconut,fresh orange& a jug of cold water.I asked for a small cup of Haagen-Dazs(with macademia nuts)which we shared just to wash the fishy taste.Viola!
