Came to this place as recommended by a friend. Situated almost at the tail end a road, this no frills shack served some tasty grilled seafood and vegetables. Grilling is done the old school way; the dishes we ordered were wrapped in aluminium foils and placed on these railings. Since we had kids, we opted for non-spicy dishes. Ordered their tilapia fish with lady’s fingers and goji berry- the fish was fresh and fragrant. There was some of fish stock within the foil that you can slurp/ drink and enjoy together with the fish. The baby squid were fresh and chewy- it was an enjoyable dish. The la-la in the stock was also a welcoming dish; also fresh and tasty. Ordered their lady’s fingers too and not being of fan of this vegetable, I was pleasantly surprised at how tender and tasty the dish turned out to be. You can order rice to go with your dishes. We washed everything down with their homemade calamansi ‘slushie’ which was welcoming as it was cooling and not too overly sweet. The limes used were grown on site according to the owner 👍🏼 The family running this farm restaurant is very friendly. They are the 2nd generation of this business taking over their father. The daughter of the business said that they were often confused with another restaurant which is situated right before of them- so if you are looking for them, do drive past Restaurant Ikan Bakar Yap Broga Semenyih and you’ll see a small road leading up to their shack with this beer signboard right infront.
With a wonderful view of nature, this is a place we don’t often get to see living in the city or even dining in the city. So do give them a try and you...
Read moreThis place is only opened from 11 am to 7pm and closed every Thursday. It is located at the end of the road after all the other eateries. There is a fishing pond in the restaurant area which is not enclosed so those who bring their kids have to keep an eye on them. The toilet is situated in an open area near the pond. It is an open air stall which served grill dishes over charcoal. One can ordered a variety of grill fish, sotong, prawns and grill vegetables. Included in the menu is grilled lamb curry. Prices are quite reasonable. We ordered signature grilled fish, grilled bamboo shoot, grilled sotong Vietnamese Style and grilled lamb curry. All the dishes tasted good, except for the lamb curry which is rather diluted. The amba juice is also very refreshing for the hot weather. Overall lunch is satisfactory. We went for lunch on a Saturday. Took 2 hours from KL. The traffic jam started the moment we entered the Kajang /Cheras Highway right up to the traffic light junction to turn into Nottingham Universiti. High time the authorities looked into the traffic situation there especially...
Read moreWe tried so hard twinning the narrow and bumpy pot hole road to reach this restaurant. It was not our original intention to visit it, but because of non stop raining since morning until now 3pm, we were sort of declining to search further for new fish specialty shop, so the dishes that turned up were totally a failure as fish was semi cooked (charcoal burn) in tin foil, house flies were rampant, and over all the environment were not clean. The water tap looked awkward when I saw the hoses that used was not from Syabas water tap system, and that added to my astonishment when I found the water used for customer hand washing basin was actually water drawn from mountain stream or underground water system. The water carried a yellowish colour and smell differently. Consider the far distance this restaurant was situated from the Broga main road, there is no mistake they are not getting water pipe service from the authority. To this it is a risk for the consumers as any thing may happen due to the...
