Environment wise very good, chill and relax vibe.
Service needs lot of improvement, one of the dishes that we ordered came after an hour which all our family member already finished their meal. Also, the cutlery is either not provided together when they serve the food or they only provide one spoon without fork. Then we have to keep requesting cutlery from the staff each time when the dishes are served.
Food review: Tuna Assam Laksa Pasta, taste good but super salty (maybe chef accidentally put extra salt)
Tomyam Seafood Pasta Taste ok, not amazing
Tangerine Mustard Chicken Chop Mediocre, very ordinary
Teriyaki Chicken Rice Mediocre
Grilled Australia Ribeye Mediocre
Cheesy Cheese Pizza Taste good but not freshly made pizza dough, is something like chapati, thin & crispy, recommended if you like crispy crust.
Creamy Chilli Butter Clams w Fried Mantou Takes one hour to serve and quite a disappointment for me, the clams are the tiny Japanese lala 花甲 (usually frozen one but I’m not sure about here), sauce is good, very creamy but not spicy at all. Fried Mantou is the best thing in my dish but I don’t think it’s a good combination with creamy butter clam, maybe salted egg or something spicy would be better.
Drinks: Taste ok but for the price I would expect fresh ingredients are used instead of syrup.
Conclusion: if you’re looking place to chill, to snap instagrammable pictures, recommended! 👍🏿 But if you’re looking for good food to satisfy your tummy, this might not be the best...
Read moreDear Orchard Hill Cafe (owner), you don't have to sarcastically reply to our concerns.
First of all, we did not order the Unagi Rice dish. And as first-time diners there, we don't even know where to take the dish, so how and where are we able to take the dish?? Are you accusing us that we enter your kitchen??
Secondly, we don't mind the long wait as we understand it's a Sunday. But after no one attending to our table requests and we empathizing want to help out with your "slow staff service" situation, so as not to disturb your staff, we went to the counter to self-serve ourself for chilli sauce for our Brekkie Breakfast, but your staff asked which is our table and he will serve but it NEVER CAME! Seriously, we don't mind the long wait but not to the extent of having our breakfast turn cold, and the chilli sauce still NEVER CAME!! And yes, the chilli sauce never came even after we have left the cafe.
Finally, as a business owner yourself, you don't have to sarcastically mention your café fell short of providing us with the "..perfect smile and warm welcome that will ensure we are met with the perfect smiles and enthusiasm we deserve...", as we don't need it. We just don't need a rude staff showing us her arrogant black face that we can't afford to buy that 2 pieces of cakes from your cafe.
Last but not least, it really amazes us that your replies (as a business owner) is unapologetic and indirectly states that much of the faults lies on customers. Reading up the reviews from your other customers as...
Read moreWent there 1020 on 31st Aug Merdeka day, a Thursday. Seated by 1023 and started ordering by 1024 and send in by 1028.
I actually had some reservation about this place due to the mix reviews about the food.
Had brunch there, lunch menu starts at 1230. We had the salmon, fish & chips, unagi rice and teriyaki chicken rice (this needed time to prepare as stated on the menu)
The RM7.90 add-on croissant + butter came at 1041 followed by the salmon at 1043, and latte and cappuccino at 1044. Unagi and fish & chip came at 1047. The chicken teriyaki rice came at 1102, by then we have already finished our meal.
Taste and presentation wise is ok, above average. As I ordered the salmon, I can only comment on that.
The mash potatoes is tick and substantial with buttery taste.
The fried diced pumpkin is sweet and well fried.
The salad have sauces on it, not just decorative.
The salmon is nicely pan fried although it could do with more spices and flavors. The skin is not seared so it is soft and NOT crispy. Otherwise it is kinda juicy, definitely not dried.
It came with tasty mushrooms sauce, not your average mushroom sauce. Nice. I didn't eat it with the fish.
The coffee is not super rich or aromatic, just average.
One thing is the tables is definitely larger than most restaurants. Very comfortable.
On one last thing is the butter that came with the croissant is definitely not sufficient, only...
