Read about it and their specialty, the curry laksa and homemade "yong liew". It certainly caught me by surprise when the curry broth was actually good, comparable to the famous one in KL and PJ. The curry has the right thickness and flavours. It's not too spicy, just rich enough and full of umaminess. However towards the end of finishing the soup, it became a bit saltier but then again I'm just being picky. Comes with hard boiled egg, beansprouts, lots of tofu puffs and chicken. My favourite cockles is not offered here. Strangely they do not offer kuey teow as 1 of the noodles options here. Then the other order was the dry variation or kicap noodles that comes with very tasty minced meat. It's very Hakka like and it's good also, my only gripe is the dark soya sauce could have been thicker to give it that nice caramelised flavour. I'm Hokkien, that explains. Curry Laksa would be my pick between the 2. Remember to order the "yong liew" as it's considered additional order if i understood them correctly. Meatball is fresh, not gamey smelling and full of "toink toinkness". "Fu Chuk" is "Fu Chuk" and it's nice too. Overall the food is good, price is not expensive but you have to be patient...
Read morePossibly the most famous curry laksa in Senawang area. I ordered with chicken. This curry laksa is a mild curry coconut broth with no heat at all. On top is some thicker curry to make the dish heartier and more savoury. To me, I feel that the broth's body was too light. There wasn't the punch of thick curry spices nor the heat and the broth felt akin to Yong Tau Foo laksa broths. The noodles were okay, did not taste too nuah soaking in the broth. The ingredients had tau pok, boiled egg and some chicken. The tau pok wasn't meaty enough, so it was unable to be a sponge for the broth to create the burst of juices in the mouth. The chicken was marinated nicely, felt the exterior skin had a mellow ginger flavour, but I felt it was too tough. Overall, I feel that it is still a good dish. They could try to add more of the thicker curry, or some sambal or chili oil for those who prefer richer flavours as the bowl that I was served felt short of my expectations in terms of...
Read moreThis is a convenient pit-stop for breakfast or lunch when travelling south. About 10 minute drive from the Senawang exit from the North-South Expressway, I’ve been stopping here for their famous curry noodles for more than 25years.
The Curry in the noodles is thick and flavourful without being too spicy. You can have the noodles with or without Chicken Curry. I prefer without as the chicken pieces tend to be quite large and a little difficult to manage when eating the noodles.
The Curry without chicken comes with Tofu Pok and hard boiled egg with a few slices of fish cake. Might be a good idea to get the Chicken Curry one and get a small bowl to remove the chicken pieces.
You can also get extra pieces of fried items to add to the noodles. These were just average with only the Lor Bak being...
