I’ve always come here to enjoy some nasi Arab, but after my last visit, I have to say I’m absolutely devastated by the experience. Let me break it down:
Service: The waiter who took my order looked like they were physically averse to doing their job. They put in zero effort, offering no friendliness, no smile, no warmth, nothing but cold indifference. It honestly felt like I was invisible.
Waiting time: Unbelievably slow! I had to wait nearly 20 minutes after ordering. I swear, I could’ve cooked a gourmet meal in less time than that! It felt like I was waiting for a lifetime.
Food: After waiting forever, I thought I’d finally get something fresh and hot, but no! What I received was an utter disaster. The food was stone cold, as though it had been sitting in the fridge for hours. And the chicken? Don’t even get me started ,so dry, it was like chewing on a piece of cardboard. The rice was tasteless, honestly, I’ve had better rice from a can and it as dry as the Sahara Desert. The cucumber (as you can see in the attached photo) was a sad, lifeless slice of vegetable with no dressing, no seasoning, nothing. It was almost an insult to my taste buds.
To make matters worse, they had the nerve to boast about their long-time operation, proudly flaunting their mediocrity as if it was some kind of accomplishment. If they keep this up, I’m certain their store will be out of business faster than you can say...
Read moreN.A.D. serves Superb Arabic food. Syrian originated but infuse to suit Malaysian tastes. The Sahawik (they called it here Tahina) tasted nice & suit the locals. But once their mandy rice combined with Sahawik and Laban (white sauce aka Yogurt), it turns to perfection. Add on chopped fresh onion with the Salatah (chopped cucumber), makes you felt a next level of scrumptiousness.. highly recommended to all... They dont serve the famous side dishes such as hummus, tabouleh, fatoush & mutabbal like my favourite Al-Rawsya restaurant in KL. Here, they are more focused on their signature dishes which they are greatly good at... i am a big fan of N.A.D. since they opened in 2010... last i came here was 9 yrs ago with family, friends and colleagues.... one significant thing is that they managed to maintain their quality & perfect taste STILL until now, after 15 years operating !!! Subhanallah walhamdulillah Allahuakbar. They still have a NO branch outlet. Old location was taken over by other operator "Damsyik Empire", that is not linked to them... so this new location of "Nasi Arab Damsyik" @ N.A.D. is the original restaurant operator... one and only, none others... u will know it just after a complete scoop taste of their dishes... all the best to them. An honest comment by a fan from Klang... P/s: drove all the way here Klang-Senawang (100km/1.5hrs one way), just for this nasi arab damsyik....one state...
Read moreWe came at a little past 8pm and there was a huge crowd that we had to wait a bit for a table. So, I suggest you to come after the normal eating time, 9 pm should be the right time since most of the people would have done eating by then.
We ordered thalsa set of 1/2 chicken and a wrap lamb kebab since there were four adult and one toddler. The rice was nice and the chicken was tender and moist. But if I were to compare it with hadramawt in jalan Ampang, this one definitely suits malay's tastebud more and it doesn't make you feel sick even after you eat 2 plates of it. It looks like they cook the rice with more herbs as compared to hadramawt in which they used the meat's fat to cook the rice.
We ordered 1 jug of fresh fruit juice, it was nice but I must say, 1 jug is not enough for us. You might want to order 2 or simply ask for less ice because the jug was filled mostly with ice.
Anyway, it was a nice meal but finding parking might be a challenge if you come during peak hour. So planned ahead! And maybe you could call ahead...
