Aunty Aini's Garden: A Hidden Culinary Oasis. Rating: ★★★★☆

Aunty Aini's Garden is a hidden gem nestled in the tranquil surroundings of the Malaysian countryside. This enchanting restaurant offers a delightful escape from the bustling city, inviting diners to savor the flavors of traditional Malay cuisine while basking in the natural beauty of the garden.

One of the highlights of Aunty Aini's Garden is the authentic Malay dishes that are prepared with love and attention to detail. The restaurant takes pride in preserving the rich culinary heritage of Malaysia, offering an array of dishes that showcase the diverse flavors of the region. From fragrant curries to aromatic rice dishes, each bite is a testament to the skill and passion of the kitchen.

The Rendang at Aunty Aini's Garden is a true standout. Slow-cooked to perfection, the tender chunks of meat are infused with a rich blend of spices and coconut milk, resulting in a dish that bursts with flavor. Accompanied by fluffy rice and a side of traditional condiments, the Rendang exemplifies the depth and complexity of Malay cuisine.

The restaurant's ambiance adds to the overall dining experience. Surrounded by lush greenery and blooming flowers, Aunty Aini's Garden provides a serene and picturesque backdrop that enhances the enjoyment of the meal. The open-air seating allows guests to immerse themselves in the natural surroundings, creating a soothing and calming atmosphere.

We went to this place yesterday excited to try out the dishes raved by michelin star chefs. The ambience of the restaurant was rustic and nice, very cooling despite the intense heat outside. The food wait was quite long despite being early there to beat the lunch rush. We ordered daging salai masak lemak, asam pedas tetel, chicken chop, beef rendang, prawn sambal and shrimp paste kangkung. Hmmm...tastewise only the rendang met my expectation. The prawn sambal arrived late - only after we have finished our food and ready to pay. The asam pedas tetel, the chilies were not cooked properly and my husband had stomachache afterwards. Since i don't want to waste food I asked one of the waitress (an Indonesian lady) to tapau but she told me she can only give plastic bags and for me to do it myself. While waiting for her to get the plastic bags, another waiter a nice gentleman offered to pack it for me instead, since he wants to clear the table. He took away the plates and i was happily waiting for the tapau, when the waitress brought me the plastic bags and was angry when i told her that her colleague had offered to tapau for me. She stomped her feet and looked visibly upset while shouting "Puan ini tadi minta plastik udah di bawa kemudian tak.mahu pula, apa ni menyusahkan" ...wow so rude! I am appalled to say the least. Wow so much for a nice tranquil ambience. I suggest to Aunty Aini, you may want to re-train your rude waitress in the proper ways to talk to customer since we came all the way to your restaurant and yet...

Aunty Aini’s Garden Café is a charming and memorable spot for lunch, nestled in a lush, expansive garden that offers a peaceful retreat from the bustle of town. The grounds are beautifully maintained, with plenty of photo-worthy corners that add to the unique kampung-style dining experience.

We were warmly welcomed by the exceptionally friendly staff, who guided us through the menu and recommended the tapai with ice cream for dessert — a suggestion that turned out to be an unexpected highlight. The tapai was fragrant and lightly sweet, pairing surprisingly well with the creamy ice cream for a refreshing and unique finish to the meal.

For the main courses, we had the gulai lemak tempoyak udang kertas, gulai lemak cili api daging salai, kerabu pucuk paku, and itik salai rendang. Each dish was rich in flavour and thoughtfully prepared. The gulai lemak tempoyak had a distinctive tanginess from the fermented durian that complemented the sweetness of the prawns. The daging salai was tender and infused with a smoky heat that lingered pleasantly. The kerabu pucuk paku added a refreshing crunch, and the itik salai rendang was robust, aromatic, and melt-in-the-mouth tender. Warning, the itik salai rendang can be quite spicy though.

Dining at Aunty Aini’s feels like being invited to someone’s home — there is a personal touch to both the food and the service that makes it special. It is easy to see why this place is well-loved by many. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and look forward...

The place looks ordinary from the outside but once you go through the door you’ll be surprised of what you’ll find inside, the garden theme really hit the spot with your typical day to day table seating, but then you’ll also have separate/private spaces for groups of up to 12 ppl where you can enjoy the serenity and the meal in peace, theres a lot of option on that as well, there a hut, a small chalet and theres a prayer room for muslims. The meal itself is worth the wait if you came in 50mins after it opens, during the weekends and public holidays that means a long queue , i mean theres a queue before they even open. I’ve tried their masak lemak cili api, asam pedas jenahak (the asam pedas for this is the most savory, its very thick too), daging tetel, kerabu pucuk paku, and so far we have yet to come across a dish that we could ignore, although despite the hype, there is some room for improvements that they might want to address to improve their service, for one, the waiting time for the meals are no joke, if you came with a hungry bunch of kids, this will be a great deal of challenge for you to calm them down as they usually tend to serve all your dishes at the same time which takes time (possibly because their understaffed as well) budak spm x hbs skolah lagi, so make sure you have some snack ready for the kids, and that your orders are “complete”, additional order will take time so make sure you got it right the first time around
