The person who took our order (not sure if he was a staff member or the owner) seemed quite oblivious and made us feel unwelcome. The menu was very limited, so don’t expect a wide variety of food options. We ended up ordering the grilled fish, stuffed crabs, and grilled squid.
At the time of our order, there were only five tables occupied including ours, and two of them had already finished their meals. Despite that, we had to wait 45 minutes for our food – which felt like a long time. 🤔🤔
There were four of us, but they served 1.2kg of fish and only 300g of squid. We’re still puzzled by how and why those portions were decided.
The fish and squid were drenched in oil/gravy with an odd taste. The sambal was just a tiny scoop on the side and had a slightly bitter flavor. As for the stuffed crab, it was really just "crab" – definitely not something we’d recommend ordering.
The final bill was quite pricey and definitely not worth the cost. We won’t be returning, and we certainly don’t...
Read moreI have been dining at this place since 2014. Before MCO 2020, this place serve fantastic "Ikan Bakar" jernahak fish (Sea Red Snaper) with lot of fried sambal chilly as well as fresh sambal chilly. Though the place was run down but we enjoy the food very much eventhough we had to drive 40km. After MCO the food served quantity were lot less, and the price increased more than 20%, but still acceptable as the taste was still good. In recent months, we noticed changes on the people operating the store, and the foods becoming lot more expensive and the cooking was bad. The "Ikan Bakar" and the fish ball was so dry, and chilli paste was tasteless. They charge RM12 for miserable portion (200gm) of iceberg lettuce. Squid (Sotong Katak) that cost RM36 (300gm) per portion seem like only less than 200gm when served. Chunky white rice, cheapest jasmine rice cost RM2 perbowl. Think carefully if you wish to dine in this miserable place, don't waste your time and money. You will probably curse and swear...
Read moreFirstly, this is not your normal seafood restaurant. It is a home convert to an eating place, not bad but with limited space especially with the online fame it garnered. Most of dish is cooked in Teppanyaki style inside the kitchen. Not visible like the usual Teppanyaki restaurant. Limited staff , all done by family member. Do not expect any service above decent. Food is what you would expect from a home style cooking, rightfully done without any flair. Tastewise, it is very subjective. I would say pleasant. You will notice the effort from owner to keep their served food fresh. Price is slightly above what I would considered fair. My 2 stars are for the food and cleanliness. 3 missed out stars are for service, ambience and overall...
