CONCLUSION: For those who appreciate both good quality food and a good service attitude, this restaurant may not be the best choice. Given the current quality and service attitude, I would not recommend this place and will not be returning.
As a regular customer who has often recommended this restaurant to friends, I was deeply disappointed with my recent visit. I brought my family for dinner, eager to introduce my aunt and uncle from other state to the dishes I had always enjoyed. However, I noticed that the ZAI NGO (斋鹅) and CHAR SIEW tasted noticeably different from before, this was the second time I had noticed the change. Therefore, I felt it was necessary to provide feedback so they could look into it. While making my payment at the counter, I took the opportunity to share my thoughts. Having always believed this restaurant’s staff are quite friendly before, I politely asked the woman at counter if the chef had changed, as the CHAR SIEW and ZAI NGO’s quality seemed different. To my disappointment, her expression changed instantly, and she responded in an arrogant tone: “Where got problem? Tonight’s dishes were cooked by our main chef some more. These 2 dishes are standard taste, impossible got problem.” Her dismissive attitude made it clear that feedback was not welcome.
What I genuinely wanted to express to her initially was that the dishes was not fried/grilled and cut as well as before, resulting in an excessively oily, large, and tough texture that made it difficult to eat. Instead of addressing my concern, she merely stated that the cooking and cutting were handled by different staff, completely brushing off my feedback.
To make matters worse, after I left the counter, she deliberately spoke loudly with other staff and the boss, insisting I was the problem—despite the fact that I was still standing nearby. This unprofessional and disrespectful behavior was truly...
Read moreService: Extremely bad Employees are friendly but the boss of the restaurant is very arrogant. If you are unlucky and he is the one taking order & you don't order their expensive food, he will look down on you. We can't order much because we are only 2 persons and he will give you the poker face and roll his eyes when you don't order those expensive dish that he wants.
Taste: Average We went there about 3 times, almost all of their food is in small size, even cheap mushroom is something so expensive to them and cut them into tiny slices and sprinkle a few pieces onto your plate "accidentally", considering their price is high, it is surely not worth it. We give it a few tries as we heard it has opened for many years & being a vegan, we don't have a lot of choice, we are very disappointed. Also for the first 2 times, we didn't realize how bad the attitude of the boss is. We will never go to this restaurant again. In fact, it is the first time we meet an owner of a vegetarian shop to be so obsessed with money, if your purpose is to only earn money, don't ever open a vegetarian restaurant. It is a disgrace to your faith in Buddhism. The motto of you opening a vegetarian shop should always be encouraging more people to become vegetarian, not driving them away.
Price: High & small portion
Overall: Very bad experience. I suggest you to try the other vegan...
Read moreOrdered wantan noodles. After a while they informed that the 'char siew' mock meat had run out but they will replace with something else. They replaced with minced mock meat which was nothing but scrambled fried towfoo that tasted like dust. Not a valid replacement at all but they still charged the same price.
Husband ordered curry noodles. For the price they charged, it was a disappointment. Tasted good but very little basic towfoo inside.
I think it's about time they gave the ingredients for their noodle items a good thought. Protein (soya) is a must for vegetarian meals. Carbo (noodles) alone is not going to do the trick.
Humble and honest opinion. Hope they will take it as a critical review, in a constructive...
