There isn't much choice when it comes to eating in the small little town of Kuala Lipis. Back in 1980s and even 90s, there are a lot of dining options but business started to die down as we approached millennium era. Now there are only a few Chinese eateries left to serve the local.
Best Friend Cafe started off with, you know, cafe concept, but has slowly evolved into serving more dishes... They even have CNY set menu recently to cope with the increasing demand from the crowd. There were only 4 of us - a few crazy guys who used to do everything together - decided to have a dinner together before CNY.
◾Grilled smoked duck breast - my fav snack of the night... Beautifully grilled. ◾Taiwanese sausage ◾Nam yue fried pork belly - they could use thinner batter and the dish would be perfect ◾Salted egg squid - addictive stuff ◾Steamed squid Thai style - love the sourish and spiciness of the seafood. Felt like eating at a Thai restaurant. ◾Stir fried bean sprout with salted fish - a good quality salted fish could make a difference and they did just that. ◾Steamed jade perch with superior soy sauce - fresh and the fish meat was flaky.

Service was fairly quick, and the restaurant is indoor with air-conditioning, which made it a comfortable place to dine. Cozy spot with a mix of Chinese and Western diner feel.
Would stop by again if we're...

I have ordered Dry Chilli Pork Rice and a glass of Cappuccino. The meal is exceptionally large in portion, delicious with a reasonable price. The white coffee did taste like instantly prepared, but of course you can't expect it to be blended with machine, as the eatery is not a cafe, so this part is...
