There are not many dining options in Kuala Lipis, a relatively small town in Pahang. To those who know, Tai Heng has been around for many years selling Hainanese Chicken Rice. Instead of poached, they only sell roasted chicken rice.
After the passing of the father, the son took over and now helms the kitchen. Service can be slow at times because he has to multi-task between chopping chicken and cooking other dishes at the back.
Appearance-wise not much has changed to the original facade.
◾Hainanese Chicken Chop - to me, this is the benchmark for Hainanese style chicken chop. Maybe I grew up eating this flavour but the plate of deep fried chicken chop smothered with sweet & savoury tomato sauce, topped with onion & green pea, drenching the fries on the side.. was very appetizing. ◾Hainanese Fried Noodle using homemade noodle which they make themselves. We Lipis folks will never eat those commercialized yellow noodle laden with alkaline and preservatives - ask anyone from this town and they'll attest to it.
