Happy find on a random stop in Kuantan, based on a google search. We initially thought google map was taking us on a ride, as we had to pass through residential area. Even from afar, Jaman Tory stood out with its pretty green facade.
Servers were strategically placed and always alert to help. Even after our order was taken, there was constantly a friendly face asking if we have been served. It was a pleasant experience indeed.
The drinks being served to other customers were all colourful and looked so inviting, especially on a scorching hot day. We ordered apple asam boi and mango juice. Our thirst was quenched.
Was quite surprised at the generous serving of ikan patin @ set ikan patin which cost rm17 each, served with tempoyak, cucumber and long beans with rice. It wasnt mind blowing but filling. We didnt order the ikan tempoyak terbakar which is said to be their signature dish, as the servings were too generous for just two of us.
There is also a nice mini surau within it's premises. Iit was nice to see clean preparation stations.
Even the manager was busy cleaning tables and attending to incoming customers looking for tables.
There is a mini swing too at entrance and groups of doves in front of surau, endearing pluses.
We also bought a pre packed miang kam @ rm10 per pack. Unfortunately it was a disappointment (sadly so).
An establishment which apologises for shortcomings @ receipt. Jaman Tory is indeed unique!

Read moreWe came in the evening around 6 on Friday. Lots of people here having dinner. But the service is fast. I order Nasi Goreng chestebako (burnt cheese? ) and the taste is delicious. For drinks I ordered Coconut shake but a bit too sweet for my liking. Anyhow price a bit pricey but everything else is fine.
Update: We visited this place again. But this time around we are giving this place 2 star. -2 stars for service and -1 star for cleanliness. We visited around the same time but on Sunday. We have to sit inside since it's just rained outside.. First of all I just realized the place is dirty. The toilet is smelly and has dead cockroach. The sink for handwash is grimy and dirty, and lastly we sat near the aquarium and the stench of the drain nearby is very bad 🤮. About the service, we have to give -2 stars because they forgot to cook 1 of the order. And when prompted, they que the order and not quickly cook it as if we are adding orders. After 40 minutes and few times of prompting, finally the food arrived and unfortunately the staff did not bother to apologize at all! . All in all, if you want to visit this place, find a not busy time and a table outside which is clean. The food is not bad as I mentioned...
