Pantai Batu Hitam, located in Kuantan, Pahang, Malaysia, is a relatively tranquil and scenic beach that offers a relaxing getaway for both locals and tourists. The beach is known for its distinctive black rocks, which are scattered along the coastline, giving it its name—“Batu Hitam” means “black stones” in Malay.

The beach itself has a serene vibe, making it perfect for a leisurely stroll, picnics, or simply enjoying the views of the South China Sea. The soft sand, although not as pristine as some other popular beaches, adds to the laid-back atmosphere of the area. The black rocks, often washed by the tides, create a unique landscape and make for great photo opportunities.

While Pantai Batu Hitam is less commercialized compared to other beaches, this is part of its charm. Visitors can enjoy a more natural, quiet experience without the hustle and bustle of large crowds. It’s also an ideal spot for those seeking a peaceful environment away from the more crowded tourist destinations.

There are a few local stalls around the area where visitors can enjoy snacks and drinks, though the amenities are relatively basic. The beach is also not as well-maintained as some more developed tourist areas, with some litter and debris occasionally found along the shoreline.

Overall, Pantai Batu Hitam is a great destination for those looking to escape the busier, more developed beaches. Its unique landscape, peaceful atmosphere, and proximity to Kuantan make it a worthwhile visit for anyone...

This beach is nostalgic, but for whatever climate change that had taken place the shore are no longer as magnificent as it used to be. It used to a long stretch of sandy beach with black rocks mounted into the sands. But while the rocks are still to be seen, walk about and feel, the shore had come closer into the land.

It used to be all green grass with coconut trees but then somebody built a resort on it and later the municipal also paved a square for parking and a tower for sea watching. There is a food court and some adequate drive in parking space it you want to drive up furthest for a good beach look out.

Usually crowded on the weekend evening. It's free and...

Batu Hitam beach is about 10 km from Kuantan. Its peculiarity is that there is a stretch of black stones at the otherwise white sandy beach. That’s the reason for its name –"Batu Hitam" in Malay means "Black Stones”.

As the black sand glitters under the blazing sun washed by the waves of the South China Sea, it will be a sight to behold!!

Other than the prominence of the black stones there, you will also find that there are ample space for camping and enjoying by the beach and sea. Here at Batu Hitam beach, the visitors mostly come to picnic with the family and to swim in the sea. After the swim, you can clean yourself as there is a...
