De Pauh Garden Restaurant & Cafe — Restaurant in Penang

The overall experience was pleasant. We wanted to do a farewell party, so to accommodate all guests, we decided to give this restaurant a try. They were pretty quick in replying on whatsapp, reservation was made easily. We ordered our food prior and paid the deposit.

On the actual day, the staffs asked before serving the food. Service was quick. The food was really good. We tried terung belado, salted egg chicken, siakap sweet sour mango plum, asam pedas, tomyum seafood and ayam buttermilk. Most of the food are great. Tomyum is a little too sweet to my liking. The asam pedas i think lacks the classic sourish taste. Otherwise my favourite was the siakap sweet sour mango plum and sotong salted egg.

The eatery is spacious and has good ventilation. Ambiance is decent. And best of all, it has a large parking space to accommodate a lot of cars.

We "accidentally" stumbled upon this great place when we were heading somewhere else for dinner. This eatery is located less than 1km from the Bukit Tengah roundabout in Butterworth, heading towards Bandar Perda.

The food was simply delicious! And the portions were more than enough. We had to wait around 20 minutes for the food, probably because of the crowd due to it being a Sunday. But the wait was justified. No complaints except maybe the portion was a bit too much (and we had to rush to relative's house some 10km afterwards!)

The atmosphere was relaxed even though it was located just beside a main road. We saw a family celebrate a birthday and the restaurant's proprietor even had a "Happy Birthday" song playing!

And the bill was fairly cheap. Our food cost us RM123/- (for a group of five!). I would highly recommend this...

For me the food is only so-so and the price can be considered pricey but also reasonable for the interior design. This place seems to be a suitable place to organize event and there are variety of foods here. I'm not sure what's the specialty here but I was thinking about quality when I came here and a bit disapointed. The things that might amaze me is their parking space, decorations, big space and a lot of staffs. Indeed there's a lot of staffs that I feel that extra price I was paying was for them to leisure around? Hehe sorry. After all they served fast here so, name the pros and cons. I was disturbed eating as the staff keeps coming to give out food that I didn't order. Well I wished that they wanted to treat me, I'll be thankful but obviously they served wrongly for 4times and I almost chocked whenever they come out of...
