Top 3 positives:
Famous for Crispy Fried Pomfret (Ikan Bawal Goreng) Guests consistently rave about the “hot crispy fried pomfret” — fresh, juicy, and the fins are apparently snack-worthy!
Great Riverfront Ambience & Spacious Layout Located by the Perai River under the bridge, the open-sided setup allows diners to enjoy river views, boats, and local vibes — many describe it as charmingly relaxed.
Affordable & Buffet-Style Variety Prices are reasonable (around RM10 per person for basic meals), and there’s a good spread of home-cooked Malay dishes, with buffet-style service top‑up for most items
Top Negatives
Inconsistent Quality & Freshness Some diners noted occasional hits and misses — e.g., fish not fresh, beef tripe too heavy, or curry slightly bitter and lacking belacan flavour
Limited Operating Hours & No Weekend Service It’s only open 10 AM–3 PM and closed on Sundays. Go too late, and you risk missing the best...
Read moreRelaly affordable place for Ikan Bakar. The ikan n ayam bakar taste really great and cooked just right. Not burnt or cremsated to a crisp like other ikan bakar places. Place opens at 10.30am and usually closes by 2.30pm. Come early so that you can have your choice of grilled seafood. If you are late, you may have to wait for the grilled dishes as the chef takes his time to prepare them. Believe me it is worth the wait! I heard that the fish head curry here is to die for. Didnt get to taste it as we arrived arpund 12.45pm and only the curry was left
Would give it 5 stars IF the selection of seafood was wider. I believe squid and prawns would be a great addition to the grilled menu. And yes, more vegetable choices please! I need to placate my self for eating too...
Read moreBeen coming here since 2018, the place is big, enough to accommodate a big group if you’re dining in with friends/family, though if you come late for lunch all the dishes would be gone, the go to here is the bawal goreng hot and crispy, goes well with spicy soy sauce, simple yet delectable, if you want to come here be sure to be early or all the bawal would be gone, came in at 12noon, just nice as all the dishes are hot and ready for the taking, coming in at 1pm you may not be so lucky, everything is self service, you pay before you eat, drinks are self collected later after payment, and the restaurant is located near a river though that wouldn’t be apparent at high noon since its low tide....
