With all the hype about this favourite local dish, I decided to try the laksa telur bersarang here as I was in the are.
The place only opens from midday (12pm) with the main dish being the laksa utara with a twist of options to add in the 'telur bersarang', fishcakes, fishballs and dimsums.
The telur bersarang or literal translation, nest-y egg, is actually egg that is fully fried using a special technique that will make the fried egg looks like a bird nest. It is then added on top of the laksa. So instead of the usual boiled egg that goes with the laksa, it has this specialty nest-y egg.
Overall, the laksa gravy taste just okay. Not at the top of my choice for a laksa utara. But if you have craving, and wanted a twist with your laksa, then by all means, go for it! Worth a try.
Also, there is outdoor food stall at the premise that sells nasi kukus ayam berempah (steamed white rice with fried herbs chicken). The stalls also sells keropok leko (fish fritter) and pau (steamed bun) with flavours such as mushroom, chocolate, durian and the usual chicken/beef rendang and curry, red bean, kaya & coconut.
The eatery also provide a small musollah at the back of its premise for the convinient of its Muslim staff and...
Read moreI arrived here around 5.30pm and this food shop closed at 6pm. It was our first time trying the famous laksa. we came far from kl just to taste and try the laksa. Unfortunately, the staff here was not friendly and gave a really bad services. Our drinks arrived after we finished the laksa. Besides, one of us did not eat vegetable and asked the server gave a bowl of laksa without the cucumber and onion. The server refused his order and he cannot eat the laksa. He was so mad at us for bringing him to this laksa shop huhu. The taste of laksa just so so, the difference is instead of having a boil egg u got the fried egg. You always can have better laksa in penang or any kopitiam. In fact nyonya laksa at secret recipe much...
Read moreI just loved their laksa telur bersarang! Will never miss to drop by this cafe everytime i visit ipoh or nearby area.. very recommended. Besides laksa they also have nasi kukus or nasi lemak ayam berempah, not bad too. I am not the type who loves laksa, but this one really hit my tastebud! I just love that i can simply pick any number of lime cut for my laksa, as we can pick the condiments by ourself.. because i am the type who need to squeeze lots of lime to eat laksa to cover the fishy taste of the laksa gravy. In the case you need plain water, they provide plain water dispensed from 'coway' machine (good right).. self-service, just ask for the cups from the...
