Parking - ⭐️
Finding a parking spot was a challenge, as the place was near a residential area with limited spaces. I had to park my car illegally in front of someone’s house and hope they wouldn’t mind or damage my car.
Order - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We chose our own table and the waiter came over to take our order politely. He was friendly and attentive.
Service - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The service was quick and efficient. We received our meals and our bills in a timely manner. We didn’t have to wait or ask for anything.
F&B - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I ordered ABC (Ais Batu Campur), a shaved ice dessert with various toppings. It was refreshing and delicious, not too sweet and with a good variety of ingredients. It was perfect for cooling down from the hot weather in Arau. I also ordered Pulut Ayam (Fried Chicken with Sticky Rice), a savory dish of crispy fried chicken and glutinous rice. It was mouthwatering, the rice was soft and flavorful and the chicken was well-seasoned and tender.
Environment - ⭐️⭐️⭐️
The place was a typical hawker-style eatery, nothing fancy or impressive. However, it was clean and comfortable enough for a casual lunch.
Price - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The price was fair and reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food. It was a good value for money.
Overall - ⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was not the best place to eat in Arau, but it was a decent option if you were passing by. The food was tasty and satisfying, the service was good and the price was affordable. Not the best, but...

They are really famous for their mountainous shaved ice, which I was not able to enjoy while I was here. Instead, I opted for their Kerabu Maggie as my main dish, and a side of Cendol as desert.
The Kerabu Maggie was very presentable and the portion is on the medium side, which is perfect if you had been stuffing yourself with other amazing food in Perlis. The instant noodle used was the one from Thailand it seems. The noodle was crispy and seasoned well, complementing the kerabu (mixed veggies) in the dish. The cendol was very small, a small bowl in fact. Again, fits my need as I had been eating a lot. It served as a good desert option especially during the heat.
All in all, visiting this...
Read moreCrowded with people. I think that described the popularity of this place. The attraction perhaps lie on the cheap price of the dishes served here. In term of taste, it is standard. The laksa uses thinner version of noodles. There are varieties of air batu campur (ABC) here. Perhaps due to coloring of the syrup, the ABC is named after different states of Malaysia. The thai soup also is sweet more than it is supposed to be. However, the stall offers fast and quick service, and the waiters are very attentive. Thus, if you require a quick meal, in Padang Nyu, perhaps Bang Teh should...
