Kunyet Kunyet Malaya Taman Medan — Restaurant in Petaling Jaya

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with a recent dining experience at Restoran Kunyet Kunyet Malaya, Taman Medan branch, on September 11, 2025, at approximately 2:00 PM. I ordered two sets of nasi with kunyit fried chicken, and the quality of the food was significantly below acceptable standards.

The curry gravy served with the nasi appeared to be excessively diluted, resembling turmeric-infused water rather than a flavorful curry. The primary issue, however, was the chicken. The chicken pieces were severely undercooked, and the spices used for the fried chicken were also raw, lacking the necessary cooking time to develop their flavors. This resulted in an unpleasant and potentially unsafe dining experience.

Upon informing the staff about the issue, they offered to replace the meal. We opted to add a single "ayam dara" to share between the two of us. Fortunately, the charges were adjusted to reflect only one person's meal.

Given the initial poor quality of the food, although the staff's response was satisfactory in resolving the issue, the overall experience was still disappointing. I will not be revisiting this restaurant in the future and would advise potential customers to consider this review before...

Dine here like more than 10 times mostly at night. Always enjoy the Nasi Ayam Kunyit at RM7.50 and Teh Ice at RM1 is really value for money.

However, prices of RM9 for only plain nasi with Ayam masak Paprik (see photo) at night is a bit expensive. Recommend that your prices must be consistent. Cannot charge rice and chicken dish, one at RM7.50 and another at RM9.

If go to other eateries, price of plain rice and chicken is only from RM6-8 only.

Have also tried ikan keli sambal hijau, ikan pari asam pedas.

Taste of food is always good. Suggest that your rice is kept in a proper container so it is served hot. Currently rice is cold and the lauk and gulai all cold.

Food and drinks have to pay at different areas and counters although they are from the same shop.

The food counter outdoor, prices are not fixed and significantly more expensive as compared to the food served indoor.

Also saw a big cockroach crawling on the floor. I stepped and kill the cockroach.
