I have been there a couple of times and I was always quite satisfied with the service and the food. However, The service today was a huge disappointment & unpleasant experience. Firstly, nobody greeted us by the entrance to have us seated. So, I had to walk up to the closest staff I could find. So, this staff named ‘Wendy’ asked me to sit at one of the table near the entrance but I decided to pick the table next to it. Reason being is I saw the restaurant was pretty empty and I picked the table where I feel more comfortable & the table has no reserve sign. So, I just sat down, then the same staff, Wendy arranged the utensils for us. However after 5 minutes, She came up to me and raised her voice at me. She said “didn’t I told you to sit the other table?!” I just got stunned and she continued saying “Just now I told you to sit the other table didn’t I!” She then just stared at me macam want to have a cat fight. Then, I said to her ok as I do not want to make a scene. I got up and I wanted to walk to the other table. She then said “no need” and she walked off. I mean what the heck?! Even if I’m at the wrong, but shouldn’t she be more polite and tell me “oh I’m sorry but this seat is taken and if you are able to move to the other table?” I’m indeed very sorry that Fu Man Ting has such a staff that just jeopardise the whole experience of the diners. If I can rate a zero star for the service, I would have done so. But Google review require at least a star for the review to be posted. This 1...

I went here on 15th June to celebrate Fathers day. When I just step in the restaurant, I was quite shocked by the environment which is superb noisy just like a kopitiam. I know there is always fully booked in this restaurant but I didn't expect that noisy. Even we talking also quite difficult and for sure baby don't like this kind of environment and they keep on crying. I think this place is not baby-friendly. And the place is very congested, the tables very close to each other. Some customers walk pass by our table even knocked on the baby stroller. I suggest no need to put so many tables if your place is small.

However, I give full stars for their service, even though fully book but all the waitress all very friendly and they are able to suit all my requests. When I left the restaurant, almost every waitress say goodbye to me with smile on their face. I really like their service.

Unfortunately, I won't go back to this restaurant anymore unless they improve on their food. The soup was tasteless. The noodles was also tasteless and very sticky, is not like a seafood noodles with gravy. The prawns were ok. The fish was not that fresh. The beef also not nice. The vege was ok. The fried brinjal got very heavy oily smell. The pipa beancurd also tasteless.

Anyway, this is my own opinion and everyone has different taste. Just go and have a try. But I really wish they can improve...

I visited Foo Man Ting 福满庭 on 01.01.2025 to celebrate my birthday, but unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations.

Firstly, we had made a reservation last week and pre-ordered our dishes, hoping for a smooth dining experience. However, only two dishes were served initially, and we waited around 20 minutes before the third dish arrived. After the fourth dish, there was another delay of 10–20 minutes before the rest came, and we had to repeatedly remind the waitress.

Secondly, the food quality was disappointing. The claypot braised chicken with abalone not only lacked flavor but also had undercooked chicken. On top of that, the stir-fried Chinese spinach with trio egg had a strand of hair in it. Though it was a small strand, it was still unhygienic. To avoid ruining the mood for my family, I quietly took a photo and chose not to say much at the time.

Overall, this experience was disappointing, and I...

Possibly the first ever Michelin grade Chinese restaurant in Kuching. I spent part of my childhood at the Ann Lee restaurant which at that time was the only place to be re-find dining. It created the signature dish Chi Pan Ya ( chess board duck) in 1937. It was a pleasant surprise that another successor has taken its place. It between it was Loke Thian but Foo Man Ting feels like the grandchild with global experience. The chef is a Kuching local but left as a young man and trained in Taiwan and Singapore. We are fortunate to have such talent returned home. The Iberico ribs is one to die for. The Peking duck the only one which served only the skin so that was a key differentiator. I will definitely return to make an attempt at the suckling pig.
