I have very little knowledge/experience with Bidayuh dishes but what we ordered tasted pretty good to me and gave my taste buds a whole new adventure! We had an eclectic selection of a simple omelette, stir fried tapioca leaves, fermented fish and fermented durian with anchovies and rice. The fermented dishes may not be for everyone but it’s certainly something to try if you haven’t had any before. There were meat dishes too but we wanted to try the really uncommon dishes. Overall, the restaurant is clean and spacious and decently priced. If you haven’t tried Bidayuh food before, this is a good starting point!
Tip: The restaurant closes from 2.30pm to 5pm (and all day Sunday) so time your visits properly. We arrived quite late for lunch and missed out on the set meals. The dining areas aren’t that big. There is a bigger area on the next floor up but it may not be open and is only...
Read moreI was so excited to try Bidayuh food for the first time in Miri! It was my first time and I LOVED the food! I was finally excited to try some dishes with tempoyak (fermented durian) as I heard notorious stories how nasty tempoyak can be. Well, not sure what there stories were about as I LOVED tempoyak!! 😍😍😍
Here is what we ordered - all dishes are recommended!
1️⃣ Tapioca fried rice with fried chicken 2️⃣ Tapioca fried rice with babi rempah 3️⃣ Tapioca fried rice with char siew pork 4️⃣ Kampung pork soup with sour eggplant 5️⃣ Kampung pork soup with tempoyak 6️⃣ Fried tempoyak with ikan bilis 7️⃣ Curry bamboo shoots

The tapioca fried rice is now my favourite type of fried rice! 😄
And yes, everything with tempoyak was very very good! ❤️
Recommended to try! The restaurant gets pretty busy during the lunch hours, so better...
Read moreA highly recommended Bidayuh cuisine restaurant. They have a serving counter with precooked dishes This is highly recommended for lunch time. Lots of Bidayuh favorites. Tried a few dishes. The tapioca leaves cooked with pork has a very nice sour taste to it, very good. The stewed bamboo shoots is rich and delicious. The soya sauce pork meat is tender and good. And there is a fried green herb which is fresh and fragrant. Very good. There are plenty of other options in the ala carte menu. Also tried the tempoyak ikan bilis which was a bit too strong for me. And the fried fermented fish which was a little too strong for me also. Very nice place. They have seating...
