Pak Gembus Restaurant: A Lesson in Frustration with a Dash of Chili
Pak Gembus Restaurant, oh, where do I even begin? Walking into the establishment feels like stepping into a fast-food haven—clean, modern, and inviting, much like McDonald’s. The concept is promising, the ambiance is welcoming, and the smell of freshly fried chicken is enough to make your stomach rumble with anticipation. But that’s where the magic ends and the chaos begins.
We decided to have lunch there, hoping for a quick and satisfying meal. But what did we get? A 40-minute wait for food! Yes, you read that right—40 minutes! By the time our food arrived, we had already gone through the full emotional spectrum of hunger: excitement, patience, frustration, and finally, pure despair. To put this into perspective, our entire eating time (with two hungry kids in tow) was just 15 minutes. The speed of service was slower than a snail in molasses. For a restaurant with a fast-food vibe, this is downright unacceptable.
And let’s talk about the order itself. We specifically requested the chili to be served separately—because, you know, kids and fiery spice don’t mix well. But when the food finally arrived, what did we see? A mountain of chili covering the chicken like a volcanic eruption! Cue the groans and eye-rolls. My kids, now tired and cranky from the wait, were left to pick at the chili-coated chicken like it was some kind of culinary minefield. It was an absolute disaster.
To add insult to injury, it felt like the restaurant prioritized online orders over the poor souls sitting inside. While the ambiance was decent and the chicken was admittedly well-prepared, none of that matters when the service is slower than a tortoise and the order is botched. The disconnect between the inviting McDonald’s-like atmosphere and the agonizingly slow service is just bizarre.
Would I go back? Absolutely not. Pak Gembus might have a great concept, but they’ve got a long way to go before they earn my trust (and my time) again. Until then, I’ll stick to places that understand the meaning...

Brader, Aku peduli apa sambal dah siap ke belum. Lain la kalau cili tu nak kena jemur bawah matahari jam 10.00 sampai 11.55 dulu, nak kena pilih cili satu² mengikut piawaian kitab jawa Sutasoma ke, lesung kena tungku atas dapur dulu bagi merah baru boleh. Kacang nak kena baling dulu, pilih yang terlangkup je. Korang masuk keje pukul berapa? Manager bangun pagi jam berapa? Pekerja masuk keje jam berapa? Ni fancais Indonesia kan? Patutnya sejam awal la. Aihhh... Jaga kaunter berat mulut. Dah la sambal pedas mcm sial, air tak sampai2. Nasi ayam gepuk set pedas biasa. Biasa je la cadangan hidangannya bagi aku. Nasi sejemput, sayur kobis dua keping sambal dan ayam cenonet. Ayam sedap, goreng cantik. Rangup Juicy tapi kecil tak mcam gambar. Sambal sedap dan ada lemaknya. Cuma pedas sangat bagi orang yg kurang makan pedas mcm aku. Oder level 1 pun dah berpeluh makan tak tau la level 3 mcm mana. Tapi kat kedai ni kalau makan apa pun berpeluh. Panas kedainya. Ada ke goreng ayam kat pintu masuk kedai, goreng ayam kat belakang la boss. Kalau nak goreng jugak kat depan pasang aircond la boss. Agaknya sebab tu pekerja masam je memasing. Melekit ketiak panas kot. WARNING ! KALAU LAPAR, JANGAN DATANG. Kalau rasa takde benda yang menjengkelkan terjadi dalam hidup anda hari ini,meh la...

It was indeed spicy but taste wise,it was mediocre.they had 4 sets n I ordered set d which includes fried tofu, tempeh, chicken, fried cabbage n gizzard.
