Hai Sang Lou Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Selangor

This restaurant is on the top floor of "Club House", at the core of the palm shaped Avani Sepang Goldcoast Resort.

Due to its popularity, we couldn't book for dinner on the day of arrival (at noon) and have to book the seats for two on next day's lunch.

We are seated next to the full height see through window where we get to see the infinity pool, chalets, and the sea view. The restaurant is completely air conditioned.

There's only two of us, so we ordered small portion of scallops with broccoli and find the portion to be medium sized for outside seafood restaurants. It is stir fried with garlic, the broccoli is soft and the scallop is fresh and taste of sea.

We also got half of the roasted chicken, which is superb. Yangzhou fried rice is also good. What we like about these two dishes is that they are not heavily salted and no MSG taste.

We ended the meal with a mango sago topped with ice cream, which is great. We have jasmine tea that uses tea leaves and few jasmine buds that is brewed in individual glass instead in a Chinese pot tea. It's really soothing.

The restaurant deco is calm, chinese music instrument and before any customers with loud children, it's a perfect place to enjoy good food and de-stress. I can understand why people would choose to come and dine here three times a day.

Make sure to book in advance to avoid disappointment. SOP here is strict and there's a sitting area for you to cool down if your temperature...

Hai Sang Lou is a restaurant inside Avani, it helps Avani to gain back some good image indeed. Hai Sang Lou's food is amazingly good. We have spent two dinners at the restaurant during three night stays in Avani. First recommended dish is their softshell crab, we have reorder twice. My kids are so impressed for this dish. Their fried rice has good "Wok Hei", it is so surprised we could have good "Wok Hei" fried rice here. Their pipe apple shrimp is awesome, not too much starch outside of shrimp, shrimp is very fresh too. Their overall dishes with shrimp are good. Another surprising disk is fried egg plant, it is my first time experience this kind of cooking, it is crispy outside with soft inner, highly recommend to try. It tests kind of french fries. Their lemon chicken is also surprisingly good, chicken is tender with crispy outer Service is also good there, they won't push you for more order, instead, they recommend to order some dishes first then increase per need. This is a pork-free chinese restaurant located in Avani Sepang Gold Coast. I came at about 6.20pm and waited more than an hour for my food to finally arrive. The other customers who came before me also waited an hour for their food to come. But when the food started coming out at about 7.30pm, most tables were served pretty quickly - this led me to believe that the chef must have been taking a nap before then, hence the very slow service. I had the yang zhou fried rice (RM40) and sweet sour fish fillet (RM45), both prices are for the small portion which is supposedly enough to feed 2 people, but yet the portions were really small - just about enough for 1 pax. Taste-wise, it's average at best. For dessert, we had the chinese pancake (RM18) and we had a choice of either lotus paste or red bean paste fillings.
