I have been longing for good vegetarian Korean food. Tried a few places and was looking for taekbokki. Found Japwest from Google search.

First glance at the menu, I fell in love. Made it a point to try it. I love jjangmeyeon, tried vegan version at another premium restaurant.

Unfortunately, the jjangmeyeon here fell short of my expectations. Sauce was not thick, I stead was runny. I remember Tzu Yang's video which mentioned a thick and glistening sauce is indication of a good jjangmeyeon. I feel Japwest can do better.

Also had the perilla leaf wrapped chicken as appetizer. I could not taste the perilla leaf, probably because it was deep dried. Will look for fresh perilla leaf based dishes the next time if they have.

Not all lost, there are still many items in the vast choices available i will be trying, specially the taekbokki. Hoping for better experience next...

Food : 5 star. We ordered the Korean dishes of kimchi soup and bibimbap. Both were scrumptious. All other dishes on the menu seemed delicate and delectable.

Portion : 5 star. Very generous compared with other similar fusion restaurants. The mains also came with substantial side dishes.

Ambience : 4 star. Quite aesthetic. The whole place gave great aesthetic pleasure and cosy feel, with substantial decorations and adornments.

Service : 5 star. The warm food was duly served within 20 min from time of order. The waiters were pretty occupied but never failed to attend to our requests.

Price : 5 star. Most of the set food items were priced reasonably.

Location : 5 star. Free parking within the...

Thought wanna try plant base food. Menu design looks good and attractive photo .But when the food arrived, we were shocked and it doesn’t same as picture. Balsamic shitake photo shown plenty portion because price slightly high. Funny is when served on our table just only fews button of shiitake around like 4 or 5 pieces . Lasagna is the worst and it doesn’t look like a lasagna and it’s taste blend . My wife named it banjir lasagna . Cooled tamago thought is serving with hot. Japchae means noodles mix with vege or optional ingredients. Not stir fry noodle!(it makes weird ) wet taste and blend . Overall all just my opinion . Hope owner keep it up upgrade food taste and plating . Attitude...

It is a restaurant with varieties of vegetarian cuisine! They have Chinese, Korean, Japanese and Western food! I kid you not, the menu has soooo many items! It is so hard to choose from! I wanted to try every single thing! The spicy mala soup with rice was so good! As for the cheese ‘Chicken’ katsu was really cheesy & the chicken is so crunchy! We also packed raviolis… and wow it was amazing! However, the drinks aren’t that great… the salted caramel milkshake was quite disappointing… Can’t wait to try more items from the menu!
