NEED RESERVATIONS !!! (walk in just try luck only, if fully booked means eat yourself 😉)

Mid March 2025

Went there for lunch while trying our luck whether they accept walk in,maybe it is a less hectic weekend after CNY so can accommodate us.

No beggar chicken, and only got Pork Trotter Leg, so just opted what is available , beggar cannot be choosy right? 😂😅

For me as an ad-hoc visiting and very small party we have, so cannot order much, even the Pork Trotter "tapau" 3/4 back 😅. Size was huge. Taste wise also Kampung type style flavor.

The pig stomach soup, the soup was spicy to my liking, not peppery spicy type. But the pig stomach was fresh and thick. No special smell 😊.

While the fish is normal, kampung style soy steamed fish. nothing captivating for me.

Overall I can say maybe no preparation to eat here and cannot choose much as ad-hoc walk in to dine. so limited choice. Perhaps can make reservation next time and choose more dishes and come in larger group to try...

Firstly you must ordered the food in advance, the restaurant doesnt entertain walk in customers 😅😅😅

We ordered chicken, pork trotter, 8 treasured rice, pig stomach soup and stir fried vegetable.

The specialty here is the beggar styled cooking ie chicken, pork trotter or duck mixed with herbs ingredients been wrapped in aluminium foil and layers of mahjong papers and finally coated with mud, been cooked in covered hot ashes on stove for 5 hours.

The cooking method will ensure the aroma didnt escape away, instead been blended into the chicken, pork trotter or duck within. For those who love to eat stew styled cooking with the added aroma that stayed within the meat, this is ideal 👍👍👍 and the meats are so tender.

Stir fried vegetable is good too.

The pig stomach soup is good too, however i would prefer with lesser pepper.

Overall is recommended, PLEASE REMEMBER TO ORDER IN ADVANCE BEFORE VISIT the...

Been seeing some reels in social media about this New Beggar's chicken and decided to visit the restaurant today. It's a long journey and when it's near the restaurant, I'm doubting the google maps as I thought it was like a stranded area. The chicken herbal is their signature and popular among the local, they really cooked the chicken herbal in clay, and it taste really good! The price seems already increase to RM83 and you should make a call like a day in advance if you plan to order the chicken. The restaurant will be closed at 3pm and they only open few days a week, so it's recommended tk make a call...

It's still the same taste even after almost 10 years since our last visit. The beggar's chicken is wrapped in aluminium foil and covered with mud, then cooked underground. The same goes for the beggar's pork leg. We also ordered the glutinous rice, which comes with 10 salted egg yolk. Another key highlight is the pepper pork stomach soup. The soup is rich and very peppery. Loved every spoonful of it. The fried fish paste wasn't available, so we substituted it with a steamed white snapper. In a nutshell, the dishes are very recommended except for the fish. Do call and make a reservation before you go.
