Been here a couple of times long time ago. The restaurant still one of the most frequented place by food hunters from the city. Usually came here in groups but recently came in 2 on a Thursday for simple lunch. Reached around 12.30 noon and as usual, the place is packed already with food hunters while parking spaces still limited. The environment still the same, humid and hot but luckily there are more standing fans all around the tables. Since only 2 persons, ordered their famous Claypot Curry Fish Head and some side dishes. Surprisingly, they don't serve Curry Fish Head in claypot anymore but instead in a small metal pot. Frankly, the taste of the Curry Fish Head no longer the same compared previously, it's more watery now compared to previous cooking styles, smaller portion, fewer fish meat, more mixed vege and the curry tasted more of curry powder instead of the old cooking style which has thick gravy curry soup with strong Santan flavouring. Prices increased and no longer cheap as compared to those days against the current...

A simple village restaurant with open concept non-aircond dining. Very crowded during weekends, drawing crowds from as far as KL, besides local populace.
They offer just five selections on their menus and signature dishes includes fish head curry and assam prawns (both Chinese style). The other three items are; bak-kut-teh, braised pig trotter and just one type of vegetable of the day.
We ordered "jenahak" fish curry instead of fish head, assam prawns which tasted more milky curry than assam, bak-kut-teh, very diluted version and blanched lettuce laced with light garlic oyster sauce - all except vegetable are served in claypot.Total bill amounted to RM126.00 for four adult and a child.
Restaurant surroundings and ambience is fair (6/10). Quality of food is good (7/10). Portion of servings is decent (7/10).The "pull factor" to WK restaurant is definitely their pricing strategy which is incredibly economical and...
Read moreMy recent meal at WK Restaurant was a truly satisfying experience! The highlight for me was undoubtedly the curry prawn. It boasted a wonderfully creamy and incredibly fragrant curry gravy, perfectly complementing the huge and fresh prawns. Each prawn was cooked to perfection, remaining juicy and tender, and there were a generous 10-12 pieces in the pot – excellent value! We also tried the fish head curry with vegetables, which offered a slightly spicier kick. This gravy was rich and flavorful, packed with cabbage, lady's fingers, and tofu bean curd. It paired absolutely perfectly with rice, making for a hearty and delicious combination. Overall, the food here is consistently generously portioned and simply good. The atmosphere is akin to having lunch at a house, and despite the warm weather, it wasn't uncomfortably hot thanks to the abundance of fans. WK Restaurant is a solid choice for a delicious and...
