Veggie Century Like every other non-vegetarian out there, I love my meat more than my veggies! But that’s exactly what Veggie Century wants to change—with super delicious vegetarian recipes that’ll leave you wanting more! Veggie Century has multiple outlets across KL, with huge seating areas perfect for a hearty family meal. What we tried: The menu: Extensive and exciting—starters, rice, noodles, burgers, and more! We almost wanted to order everything. Starters: Thai Tofu – Huge chunks of fried tofu topped with raw mango and papaya, finished with a sweet, spicy, tangy sauce that’ll awaken your senses! Mala Oyster mushroom – Oyster mushrooms fried to perfection, mixed with an array of spices, dry red chillies, Sichuan peppercorns, and maybe even some chili oil. This one’s a genius twist on the traditional dry chili chicken or laziji from Chongqing, Sichuan. The mushrooms’ meaty texture soaked up all the spice and made it super addictive. Mains: Claypot Mushroom Fried Rice – Bao Zai Fan, literally translates to rice cooked in a claypot. Traditionally this dish is made with dried shiitake, wood ear mushrooms, and dried lily flowers. At Veggie Century, they’ve recreated it with mushrooms and mock meat made from soya (a great chicken substitute). The rice has that classic claypot glaze and is coated beautifully with sauce. Dry Curry Wantan Mee – The one I was looking forward to the most, and definitely my personal fav. Comfort food at its best—aromatic, flavorful dry curry that tastes exactly like chicken curry but made with mock meat and potato. The noodles were cooked perfectly to coat the curry. Drinks: Fall in Love – A cold mocha you will fall in love with. Honey Lemon with Chia Seed – Sweet, tangy lemon juice with chia seeds—a perfect match for the meal.
As a non-vegetarian, I was genuinely surprised that a vegetarian meal could be this delicious, protein-packed, and...

My number 1 favourite was the bak kut teh set, it’s savoury and spicy , the mushroom was marinated well and was soft.
Laksa was good, unique as its fried, loved that it still had the laksa taste to it and plenty of eggs, not just noodles.
The claypot mushroom’s rice was tasty too, savoury but when you add the sambal, its another kind of delicious. i suggest eatinf without the sambal first then with, to get the whole experience!
Rojak was unique, the sauce was super thick, loads of peanuts. Thai tofu was refreshing from the slight sourness and the spiciness added a kick to it!
Coffee chocolate was good not too sweet, the wolfgang longan too was...
Read moreWas there for lunch on 5th July 2023, the lady Supervisor(??) manning the cashier counter at their Selayang Jaya outlet very arrogant and not diplomatic in handling customer feedback on food. When said food portions had reduced, she harshly replied, " If you're not happy, don't eat here!" Then we reiterated that aren't you given training on handling customer complaints, she proudly said, "No!" We have been patronising them since their opening in Selayang Jaya. Hopefully the manager, Mr Liew(??) will look into this matter seriously as such attitude from a supervisor/staff is utterly ridiculous n...
