What is the Difference Between Smoking, Barbecuing, and Grilling?
So with all this information about what each cooking style is, the question still stands. What is the difference between smoking, barbecuing, and grilling? The main differences between the three methods of cooking the same piece of meat all comes down to cooking temperature and time.
Smoking can happen at two different temperature ranges. Very low heat (68°F to176°F) for 1 hour to 2 weeks depending on the temperature and the individual needs of the food simply for flavor, is an option called “cold smoking.” Smoking can also be done at low heat (126°F to 176°F) for larger foods that need to be cooked, not just smoked for flavor.
Barbecuing is done over low heat (190°F to 300°F) for a few hours. “Low and slow” is the phrase to remember here.
Grilling is done over high heat (400°F to 550°F) for just a few minutes.
If you keep this in mind, you will be able to quickly and efficiently tell the difference between the three. Break out your herbs, spices, and seasonings and get to...
Read moreMe and 3 friends came with quite high hopes :) A friend suggested that we try out the brisket there. From the FB video, the meat seemed juicy and very appetizing.
Upon receiving our order though (the RM380 platter with the 5 side dishes that also had the chicken), we were a bit disappointed. The sliced brisket was not juicy, as a matter of fact it was dry (not as advertised in the FB video). The pulled lam meat (I think it was lamb)... well, some parts were quite delicious, but other parts were not that consistent. The side dishes seemed to dominate as compared to the meats... and for RM380... the portions didn't seem to be that much. A few weeks back we had lunch at Tony Roma's and the portions vs price seemed valid. Also... they were out of cheese at 5-6pm! :( I mean, that's when the shop opens! So we had to settle for the cheesy nachos, fries and wedges, without cheese...
The potato salad was delicious though :) And so were the sauces... :)
I however believe that karnivormalaya can still improve. Perhaps the staff is not trained well enough in handling the meat, resulting in the lack of juiciness. Improve on making the food better, and the portions more berbaloi :D Hope to be coming...
Read moreKecewa sangat, being dying to go to this shop since last year, and today we finally went there on my special day! We arrived there at 6.30pm and had to wait for about 40 minutes to have our place to dine. Luckily there were spot for us to sit and wait comfortably :). We ordered 3 main dishes 1) rosemary lamb 2) pulled lamb 3) Aussie steak brisket and 1 side dish which is the mac n cheese. I am a meat lover, truly but unfortunately in this place I failed to enjoyed every meal that i have ordered. In general, all meat were cooked badly, too dry and overcooked. The smoked was terrible as it covers the sweetness of the meat. It just lost its original taste.
The mac n cheese is lacking of cheese, even my kids they can’t eat it, it is so plain and tasteless. Not mentioning the price for the quality dining that we had, I would rather pay and eat at the mamak stall.
Owner should go and learn from Menate, laman grill or even romas. Pegi belajar from the meat expert and benchmark your cook with others, itupun kalau nak survive lma in this field. Better do some improvements you...
