Managed to try few of the foods here such as Chee Cheong Fan, Lam Mee, Seafood Noodles, Popiah, Claypot Chicken rice (Highly recommended), etc. Most of the food were delicious and above average.
However one stall that was truly disappointing was the Chinese stir fry (小炒) stall. The first time I’ve tried it I ordered their sweet n sour rice + buttermilk rice. All I can say it was super duper tasteless. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and went back another day to try one of their stir fry noodles. I couldn’t believe it was wayyy worse than the rice dish I had before…. It was completely tasteless as if they stir fry the noodles in mineral water…. Super disappointing.
Overall this is a good place with good variety of food to choose from. Only stall I will not go back is the Chinese stir fry stall. Hopefully they improve on this because it’s definitely the worst stall out of every stall I have...
Read moreFirst things first. This kopitiam occupies two corner lots. I went to the one on the side of Lion Sight Kitchen. Standard kopitiam vibes - noisy and hot. Options present during this visit : Kampar fishball noodles, pan mee, wantan mee, steamed fish head, curry laksa, hakka mee, porridge, xiao chao.
Drinks came fast. Taste is standard. Peng is slightly watered down.
I ordered pan mee from the Kampar Fishball stall. The taste was standard. Noodles were just nice with springy texture. Soup not overly salted. My companions ordered Curry Laksa (verdict was so-so) and porridge with mixed innards (verdict tasted ok but innards were sliced too thin or taste, just texture).
Lastly, payment. Like always, cash is king and QR is available. Drinks QR are on the table and stall operators will gladly give their QR on their phone or hardcopy...
Read moreA larger size Kopitiam with all your familiar options and drinks. The most famous dish here is the prawn mee. It can run out fast so if that's what you want go early. I also really like the Char Koay teow there. The uncle and auntie who make it are really friendly and are willing to customise your dish to your liking. I normally get some yau cha kuey to have with my coffee. The prawn with shredded chicken hor fun by the lovely couple is another great dish to have if you like something soupy, a lot other variety like pork noodles, pan mee, wok dumplings are...
