I'm used to eating miso tori paitan ramen from quite a few Japanese restaurants, so I might be a little fussy. For East Coast, the charge might seem hefty but the restaurant really is charging the standard price here considering other ramen restaurants, imho. You get what you pay for. I had miso ramen. I asked the waitress if the miso broth is miso tori paitan broth or just miso broth. She didn't seem too sure but said it's just miso broth. If it was tori paitan with miso broth, then it's a little underwhelming. If it's miso broth per se, then the richness was adequate, but I could taste the care and love poured into the cooking of the broth. The chicken chashu was tad bit overcooked and smelled, I ended up passing some of mine to my husband. Traditionally, chashu is prepared with chicken thigh so it usually is soft and melts in your mouth. Couldn't exactly taste or see nice colour of the braise. The ramen... I think they used fresh made ones perhaps packed in vacuum bags or just fresh ones, but I'm quite certain that they did not use those dried ones - and this is a plus point
I actually was having pregnancy-induced craving for sushi, unfortunately they ran out of it 🥲. Seeing kek batik on display in a Japanese restaurant instead of sushi and Japanese desserts was a tad bit bizarre and the choice of beverages was extremely limited - of which they ran out of 3 on the menu. Perhaps they do not want to waste on raw material?
The ambience was neat, nice, and clean. Calm, not noisy, thank God. Quite a good acoustic thanks to the higher ceiling, I really appreciate this part of the restaurant. Service was swift and our food was served within 10-15mins (at that time the restaurant was filled up by a third maybe). Payment options aplenty, e-wallet, cards, cash
For halal ramen fans, this restaurant can satisfy your cravings sufficiently. Worth...
Read moreSo came here with a friend because we crave for some japanese food....the shop is quite secluded and it has not a lot of parking space.
Just for note, we are uni students....so it might affect the review : The food was amazing...price was pretty standard but as students it burns a hole in our pockets...like my meal was rm 50+ but at the same time they do hotpot and stuff so still can share money between friends and still get a good meal. The highlight for me is the chicken karage. It was sooo good I wish i brought it instead of taking from a friend. The ramen was good and creamy. It feels like going to a quality restaurant. Overall would recommend coming here...giving it a lower rating because it's pricey but that's again because we are uni students who don't have...
Read moreI only ordered 5 pieces of sushi. How can you messed my order up? It's a very simple order, as the sushi is on display.
Service is really bad. No waiter waiting at the door to usher patrons. So, i had to wandered in, not knowing where to sit. So many staffs but no one cares. Macam masuk warung.
Sushi is laid bare for too long on the receiving counter before being served. Not hygienic.
And the patrons next to my table had to call the waiter several times and they acted as if they didn't hear her.
Really bad...
