When you have such a bad experience you start questioning if many positive reviews are genuine, and most of them seem crafted on purpose. Actually this place changed name recently and apparently did so to clear a previous bad reputation, that’s what we heard. Our experience was bad in terms of service, food and cleanliness of the restaurant. If you ever take the wrong decision to go there just have a look at the customer toilet dangerously adjacent the kitchen. Disgusting. Food stock was on the floor between the kitchen and the toilet. We have been served fish that was defrosted and the octopus so chewy and cold that was not edible. Juices were a joke as they were a small quantity watered down and in dirty glasses. Waiters didn’t care when we politely ask to amend the bad food and didn’t even flinch when we politely decided to leave. In local island in Maldives standards are very low for food and accommodation but Sea Salt takes this to a lower level, with prices that are 4 times what I would pay...
Read moreWe found this restaurant just by coincidence and we are very glad for it. It's a nice local place. We had really great two dinners here and could not complain on nothing. Even the staff speaks only little english(or just few of them) they are very friendly, as in most of the places. They use quite a lot of chili in the meals, which was ok for me, but if u want less they will prepare it according to your wishes. The waiting time for the meals is somewhat longer, but its worth of it. The prepared dishes were always fresh and very tasty! And on a holiday we got no need to hurry :). We had their home made Ice tea, which was the best ice ever! Made from real tea, nice cold and refreshing. Really great! At the end of visit we received their own small bananas as a gift(twice), which was an additional nice touch. Our visit took place during the Ramadan period and had never an issue to get food or drink even during the day! Really...

Visited Sea and Salt recently, and while the food itself was decent, the overall experience left a bad taste.
I was shocked to be charged for plain drinking water—served in a non-sealed glass bottle that I couldn’t take with me or even finish. This wasn’t mineral or packaged water, just regular drinking water. When I questioned it, the staff responded rudely with a casual “everyone pays”—zero explanation, zero courtesy.
To the management: You may want to revisit how your team is trained to handle customers. Hospitality isn't just about serving food—it's how people feel when they leave. I left feeling disrespected and overcharged for something as basic as water.
Would not recommend based on service alone. A disappointing experience that overshadows any...
