Came here for the rabbit but had a full Maltese experience. While we were asking about the menu, the guy at the counter offered to provide us with a variety of Maltese dishes (in smaller portions) which we accepted. We tried the following dishes:

Fenek (rabbit) - they didn't have the fried rabbit, so we opted for the stew. It was delicious! It was our favorite dish. I could eat more of this. Ziemel (horse meat) - a lean meat but the flavor was great. Bebbu (snail) - need to get your hands dirty but I appreciated that the snails didn't have the "lid" and I ate it with ease. Flavor 👍 Bragioli (minced beef) - reminded me of a meat loaf. Also delicious Qarabali (minced beef) - another minced meat dish. Was our least favorite dish. Would skip this next time.

Our food came with a side of fries and roasted potatoes. All of this came out to €34.50. Value for money was great and the food was amazing. Each dish had a different flavor profile. 100% would...

The Real Maltese Farmers Snack Bar — the name truly says it all. It’s the perfect spot for a genuine Maltese lunch, a warm cup of tea, and the kind of atmosphere where you feel right at home. Whether you’re catching up with friends, chatting with locals, or even spotting a few familiar faces from TV, this is the place to be.

I absolutely love the bragjoli and qarabali mimli — they remind me so much of what my nanna and mum used to make. Every time the plate arrives, it’s a moment of pure nostalgia and delight — always a wow.

Prosit for staying true to traditional Maltese food and not turning into yet another Turkish, Indian, or Italian spot. Keep flying the flag for our culinary...

Do not expect refinement but good genuine homecooked fare cooked the traditional way by very capable hands. The downside of that is that it is extremely busy always and tables are generally packed so one has to wait for a vacant table since the restaurant doesn't take lunch bookings. Be ready for a very rowdy and loud atmosphere as the place is frequented by the local farming community members who all seem to be hard of hearing. Serves food daily at lunchtime and dinner only from Thursday...

Real Malta food! if you don't mind not so sophisticated service, and I don't mean un-kind, owner is very communicative, friendly and willing to explain food menu but they are still not there for tourists. Around you local people playing cards, haven lunch breaks and just minding their own business. Food is delicious and we tasted best local open white wine on Malta and Gozo. Just try their Mix menu per person, you will get a peace of every taste, Rabbit was best, snails are must. :)

Found this locals bar and restaurant on day out. Large daytime menu, more limited during the evening. Returned, shared massive baked macaroni starter, beef olives and pork chops. Followed by complimentary unshelled fresh monkey nuts and local Halva. Affordable traditional Maltese dishes at their best. Superb and we were stuffed. Under €45. Returned 3x and it was unfortunately closed. Really disappointed, hope all Ok. Highly recommended!
