Hola Beach Club — Restaurant in Mellieha

Came here for a friend's birthday. First impression was a tad shocking as the beach looks pretty different than the images published by the property owner. The sea is shallow and far from our usual beaches. The staff were lovely, cocktails were good too, food on the other hand is a joke, to say the least. Besides the fact that it takes forever to arrive, fries were served cold, meat over cooked and tuna also over cooked and not fresh (and we specifically asked if it is fresh before ordering). We sent the tuna and meat back, meat came back fine but tuna was still overcooked. We sent it back again and they removed it from our bill. When we asked for the bill, we realised that they added some things other people were ordering. They removed the items and once again had more items included on our bill which we did not take. The place in general needs a good facelift, kitchen need to pull their sock up and up their game big time. This is not to mention that the menu is not really a Summer menu, it was not my choice to come here, definitely will not be coming back though. Just returned from a friends’ wedding. Very disappointed by the treatment of staff and management. If you would like to get married in private and have exclusive use of the beach, I would not recommend this place. Although they promise and charge for exclusivity this is not provided. The staff and management are not interested at all. They fail to tell you that there is a bridge next to hola beach which connects to the other hotel and people walk past it in their swimwear and stop and watch ceremony in close proximity as well as sunbathing on hola beach. Also there were kayaking lessons taking place right next to where the ceremony was happening. We went to have a look at the venue 2 days before and were told to either order drinks or leave. Also they appear to have double booked and booked a works do at the same time as the wedding. The place itself is lovely for a drink or a meal but I would certainly not recommend booking it...

Unfortunately we had a very bad experience in this place. The location is pretty good in front of an amazing sea but the service is the worst ever. Let's talk about what's happened: for the first moment we entered in they told us that the sunbeds cost 35€ (was not clear if it was 35 total of 35 each) and obviously were 35€ each for the second line... I didn't know that I was in Ibiza😂 Then we had a normal lunch, the food was ok but I waited 20 min for a smoothie (important they put apple juice inside so it's not only frozen fruit but is not written on the menu. Last but not least we paid the check and then they told us that it was not our check and they asked us to pay the difference. Resume we paid 124€ for 2 sunbeds, 1 daiquiri,1 hummus,1 chicken salad,2 waters and the famous smoothie. Make your own...
