Ivy House — Restaurant in Pembroke

The sound is over the top, amazingly good. The venue is lovely aswell. The hosts where horrible, i paid full price for the venue before the event took place. (Techno event) I was promised the venue till 2am in the morning. The owner decided at 11:30pm, that since we where not buying enough drinks, he wanted to stop us as 12:00am instead of the agreed time (till 2am), he said that he will have to pay the bartender double the price and it was not profitable for him since he mentioned we where not buying enough drinks (which is not true, and even if it was true, i paid the full price of the venue and we didn't agree on any ammount of drinks that we have to buy ). After a heated discussion we where allowed to keep the event going till 2am. A huge waste of time, ruined the vibe completely and all for nothing cause in the end we still kept going till 2am. Why the extra hassle ? Why promise the venue if you cannot keep what you promised ? Why promise good sound and you kept telling us to lower the volume ? Why cater for artists and then try to...

Horrible experience organizing my son's birthday party. Agree with reviews below that they are a scan. Wish I had seen them before.

They kept changing terms of agreement and less than 48 hrs before they ask for full settlement of payment because it's company policy they said.

They did not hold their word and did not provide what was agreed. Two instead of 3 options for kids menu and not catering for someone who was celiac as agreed. Drinks were served in plastic cups and half filled.

Staff were trying to be helpful but without a coordinator only seemed as headless chickens. After the party it was explained that the owner/coordinator was sick and therefore did not show up.

Furthermore, photos of my event with guests was uploaded without my permission. After asking for photos to be deleted, my comments were deleted but not the photos. The photos were deleted and uploaded 3 times without my permission, I'm guessing she was hoping I don't notice.

Very rude and arrogant...

WARNING: THEY WILL SCAM YOU

We had an absolutely terrible experience with this venue, and I urge anyone considering them to RUN in the opposite direction. Initially, everything seemed fine, and we agreed on terms for our event. But once we paid the deposit, they suddenly changed everything. The terms we had agreed upon were thrown out the window, and when we tried to protect ourselves with a written contract, they outright refused to sign it.

At that point, it became clear that they had no intention of honoring the original agreement. Feeling completely misled, we decided to cancel. And despite canceling more than two months in advance, they refused to refund our deposit! Their behavior was shady, deceptive, and completely unprofessional.

These people are not to be trusted. If you care about your event and your money, avoid this venue at all costs. There are so many better, more honest places out there. Don’t fall into their trap...
