Overpriced and overhyped. Great location, especially during daylight, but nothing too wow inside. Rustic and gloomy, but the worst is the upsell. Waiter gave us like 2 minutes and then was standing again by the table stating he will 'help us' choose the dish if we tell him what are we up for. When politely asked to just give us few more minutes to read thru the menu he repeated that he will help us choose. When asked again to give us time he repeated it is his job to assist us. Should have left at that point. I expressed my wish to have fillet but was not informed they have 2 options based on origin. Waiter asked what side we want. I asked if they do mashed potatoes and he responded - I can get you our special French potatoes with special butter. When asked if the French potatoes are something similar like mashed potatoes he said no, but said their French potatoes are really nice with the special butter. So I asked why is he suggesting something when I am asking for something completely else... When asked what the steak comes with he said just veggies. I asked what veggies and how much of veggies and he said - whatever veggies you prefer so I told him steamed or similar and then he asked if the meet should be marinated! in beef or chimichurri sauce and we told him we don't want our steak to be marinated in any sauce and he said - okay, do you want the sauce on the side and we said yes. What we ended up having was steak with veggies + beef sauce which it comes automatically with and extra portion of Chinese veggies and extra sauce 'on the side'.
Fillet came pre-cut in cubes, but despite the fillet being cooked 'blue' it was a workout to cut and eat, on top of that the meat was tasteless. Beef stock sauce was awful. Chinese salad was 50% onion.
After really disappointing main we decided to go for their recommendation of sharing dessert - authentic Ferrero rocher ball, which was just overly sweet chocolate ball, no waffle and not tasting of a quality chocolate. Another let down.
Service - we were attended by 2 waiters (young-ish Mr. Upsell and old Maltese), there were only 6 other guests during few hours we spent in the restaurant mostly waiting for food which took really long, waiting for plates to be cleared out, waiting to place dessert order, waiting for bill, waiting for waiter to come with card machine. Oh and don't let them take pics for you. The old waiter took million from different angles and all from too far away, even when asked to take it from closer distance, he was telling us he is doing it every day and knows the best angles to make it look natural, but not 1 pic was usable.
Felt ripped off when bill for 2 streaks + 2 glasses of Italian primitivo + 1 dessert was close to €200 thanks to charge for extra sauces, chinese vegetables and who...
Read moreEra Ora: A Tale of Two Experiences – Breathtaking Views, Five-Star Service, But a Bitter Aftertaste My recent birthday dinner at Era Ora was, in many ways, a truly memorable experience. From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance screamed five-star luxury, perfectly setting the stage for a celebratory evening. The service was impeccable – attentive, professional, and everything you'd expect from a top-tier establishment. Our server anticipated our needs without being intrusive, making us feel genuinely valued. And then, there were the views. Absolutely to die for. Perched in a location that offers sweeping panoramas, Era Ora provides a breathtaking backdrop for any meal. It's the kind of vista that elevates the dining experience from good to unforgettable, adding a real sense of occasion. The food, focusing on their steakhouse offerings, was undeniably good. The cuts were well-prepared and flavorful, living up to the promise of a quality steakhouse. However, what started as a perfect evening took a dark turn upon returning home. Both my wife and I suffered from severe food poisoning, an ordeal that unfortunately cost us two full days of work. This completely overshadowed the otherwise wonderful experience, turning what should have been a cherished memory into a regrettable one. To their credit, Era Ora did reach out and offer compensation in the form of a voucher or a free meal. While the gesture was appreciated, the condition that we would need to dine there again made the offer unappealing, given our recent experience. Understandably, returning to a restaurant that caused such a severe health issue is simply not an option for us. In conclusion, Era Ora undeniably excels in creating a luxurious atmosphere with exceptional service and unparalleled views. The food itself was good on the palate. However, the severe food poisoning we experienced is an undeniable and critical flaw that cannot be overlooked. While their attempt at compensation was acknowledged, the terms made it impractical. It's a real shame, as without this unfortunate incident, Era Ora would have been an easy recommendation for a special occasion. As it stands, prospective diners should be aware of this concerning risk. Replying to the owners comment. You are mistaken as we did not bring any dessert with us from home. I however did take a piece upon arriving but the wife did not and as such it could not have contributed. We also gave out 6 piece of the same dessert to other people later on in the week and no one had any...

Tldr: order process: look at menu, request X amount of meat Y, waiter will bring meat(or alternatives) to you along with the price before it will be cooked or put on the bill, not pressured to choose any of the options brought our to you, feel free to ask for alternatives.
We were looking for a nice place to take our friends to and we found this place by chance.
We all love a good steak so we decided to come here.
Full disclaimer, we were expecting to spend about 300 eur on the meat but it came out to 370 eur, and despite of all what other reviews say we were informed of this before it was put on the bill and never pressured to accept it unless we were 100% happy (detailed bellow) , our waiter said that we can take our time to decide if this is what we want.
The way the meat ordering process works is that you request an amount of meat eg 1.2kg of meat X and they will come with to the table with the meat to show you what they have and how it looks like, in our case a piece that was 800g and two smaller pieces of a different and better kind. This was because they didn’t have the exact quantity of the meat that we requested
They cooked the meat exactly as requested, even went ahead and split one of the pieces and cooked it differently at no extra charge.
The dessert is absolutely fabulous too would definitely recommend to try the...
