At long last, after a couple of years of tedious waiting, The Villa is open again under new management. They have refurbished the terrace and the result is fabulous! I have been going to The Villa since 2016 so I was excited to experience what Oka's has to offer. And my goodness do they deliver. The menu is short and concise, which is perfect. They specialise in seafood and that suits The Villa terrace restaurant very well. I had the saffron risotto with mussels (after recommendation from the most amazing waiter from Bolivia, ask for him, he is great) and the raw mussels (400g). Everything tasted, and was presented, just perfect. The legendary bar at The Villa is still there and the selection of wine, spirits, liquors, etc is still impressive. The staff deserve a special mentioning. In a country where great hospitality and service in restaurants is very rare the staff at Oka's are absolute world class. Bravo! I have always loved The Villa and Oka's makes this old beautiful house proud and they should be proud of themselves for having done an amazing job. I will be back again, I already made a new reservation immediately after finishing my meal. Highly recommended! Top 3 places to eat &...
Read moreWhen you arrive at the villa, it feels like stepping onto a movie set—the staircase leading up to the beautiful building is truly impressive. At the top, you reach the terrace with a stunning view over the bay. Especially in the evening, it’s very romantic with all the lights coming on.
A bit too chilly outside? The interior of the restaurant is also beautifully decorated.
The service was EXCELLENT! The waiters were highly professional and incredibly friendly—no request was too much. We had a three-course dinner with a drinks package and were generously served. The food was refined and perfectly executed.
We came here with four groups of 50 people each, and every single time, everything was flawless. Nothing to criticize—everything was top-notch.
Thank you, Team Oka’s at the Villa, for giving us such...
Read moreVery disappointing experience. We were group of 8 and not 1 left amazed or food-satisfied. Portion size/dish taste and presentation are nowhere near their prices and don't get me started on the unbelievably slow service. We ordered all at once but didn't get drinks nor food at the same time. There was over 15! minutes gap until we all got our food and we had to ask where our food is. We also sat there with empty glasses, staff running around, but noone asked if we want to order another drink. The most bland ceviche, ugly presentation of fish, which didn't taste nice either and the absolute worst was mille feuille which should have been served with seasonal fruits - 3 layers of pastry with mascarpone and apple jam. If I wanted apple pie I would have ordered apple pie. Nice view of Balluta Bay over dirty...
