Ohhhhh my goodness, where to begin with the Rosami experience? We came here for dinner while visiting Malta on our honeymoon, hoping for a fine dining experience but without any real expectations as we have never had dinner at an establishment like Rosami’s! Needless to say, we were utterly BLOWN AWAY by our entire evening.
We were firstly struck by the elegance and careful design of the entrance- the restaurant itself is beautifully intimate, and incredibly romantic. Clearly a lot of thought has been put into every aspect of the place. We were greeted by some of the nicest people who immediately made us feel at ease, welcome and just so special! At Rosami’s you will be attended to by several staff members but never does this feel uncoordinated in any way- the whole team works seamlessly together and you can tell that the whole place runs like a well oiled machine in this regard!
There is no real menu at this restaurant- rather you let them know any dietary needs, and pick how many courses you want (6 or 8) and then they bring out food according to this. We ADORED this concept and I highly highly recommend that you choose the 8 course menu, because it was stunning and we both agreed that had we gone for the 6 course option we would have been dying with curiosity as to what the other 2 courses were…!
I am vegan but my husband is not, and it was actually so interesting to us to see how they had designed the vegan menu so beautifully alongside the “carnivore” menu. Often, even at fancy restaurants, I have felt left out as a vegan- our food so often just doesn’t have as much care put into it as the so called “normal” menu… But that is absolutely NOT the case here. I felt so palpably the love and thought that had been put into every single vegan course- and watching what my husband had as well it was just so clear that the vegan menu had not been an afterthought. I really cannot rave about the food here enough- from the very first little snacks they brought out, we knew we were in for a real treat. I truly can’t say good enough things- everything pairs beautifully, tastes outstanding, and is so carefully and creatively put together! My most immense compliments to the whole culinary team, we truly adored the meal and haven’t stopped talking about it.
I particularly loved how everything was presented- each course is brought out so very stylishly and explained to you with gusto and enthusiasm! It is fascinating to watch and we even learnt a thing or two! :D Eating dinner here isn’t just about the amazing food, but also about the very special and unique atmosphere and delivery of all courses.
They brought us a little cake with a signed card towards the end of our meal to celebrate our honeymoon and it was at this point that I literally started to shed a few tears because everything had been so charming and pleasant and lovely- and the cake was one of the prettiest things I’d ever seen (and tasted…!) What a kind and thoughtful way to just make our evening so very special. We will not ever forget it!
To top all of this incredibleness off, we were so very kindly advised on which wine to pick by the fantastic sommelier, who also was just lovely to talk to and who gave us such kind advice about what to see in Malta! We are not really wine experts- but were not made to feel judged for this at all, quite the contrary- it was delightful to learn a bit about wines and the local wines in particular. Another lovely touch to an incredible night!
We were having such a wonderful time that when we eventually looked at our watches we realized we had been there for nearly 4 hours..! But never were we made to feel rushed at all- the staff are so professional and unbelievably devoted. Please, please do not hesitate to book yourself an evening at Rosami’s- it is such an indulgent treat and an experience you will savour and remember more than fondly. We will definitely be back next time we are in Malta, and we want to thank everyone at Rosami’s for the care and kindness they showed to us, marking such a lovely night on our...

We opted for the six-course tasting menu, enhancing our experience with supplementary oysters for appetizers and the indulgence of truffles in our main course. From the moment we were seated, it was clear that this would be a meticulously crafted and unhurried culinary journey – a truly fantastic, slow-paced meal perfect for a special occasion. The evening began with a touch of theatre as a lady expertly prepared a smoked Negroni tableside. The aroma of the wood smoke mingled with the classic cocktail scents, creating an anticipatory buzz. This personalized touch set the tone for the attentive service we would enjoy throughout the evening. Following our drinks, a trio of bite-sized appetizers arrived alongside the freshly shucked oysters. The crispy fish skin provided a surprising and savory crunch, while the scamorza offered a creamy, slightly smoky counterpoint. The delicate brioche acted as a perfect vehicle for the other flavors, introducing us to new and exciting culinary combinations.
The Xara egg, presented as a creamy velouté-style soup, was truly sumptuous. The vibrant purple leaves and "other stuff" (perhaps edible flowers or microgreens?) not only added visual appeal but also contributed delicate herbal notes, elevating this seemingly simple dish. Next came the Chawanmushi | Calamari & Rossi Prawns | Dashi, a savory egg custard. While the texture was undeniably silky, we found the inherent egg smell a little pronounced for our personal preference and the tender calamari and sweet Rossi prawns adding delightful seafood accents The Sea Bream | Cauliflower | Roast Bone Sauce proved to be a surprisingly delightful fish creation, even for someone who doesn't typically gravitate towards seafood. The sea bream was cooked to perfection, its flesh flaky and moist. The accompanying cauliflower offered a lovely earthy sweetness. The main course, Beef Fillet | Boltardy Beetroot | Jus | Bianchetto Truffle, was truly a class apart. The beef fillet was cooked with precision, boasting a perfect sear and a tender, melt-in-your-mouth interior. The earthy sweetness of the Boltardy beetroot provided a lovely counterpoint to the richness of the beef. The accompanying jus was deeply flavorful and glossy, tying the elements together seamlessly. The generous shavings of fragrant Bianchetto truffle elevated the dish to another level This was a dish where each component played its part in a truly musical culinary experience. As we transitioned to the sweeter part of the evening, the Pear | Anise | Yogurt offered a refreshing explosion of flavors. The sweetness of the pear was beautifully balanced by the subtle warmth of the anise, while the creamy yogurt provided a cool and tangy counterpoint, cleansing the palate and preparing us for the final act. The concluding Mġarr Strawberries | Chocolate | Vanilla desserts were a delightful end to our anniversary meal. The locally sourced Mġarr strawberries were bursting with fresh, summery sweetness, perfectly complemented by the rich, decadent chocolate and the smooth, classic flavor of vanilla. It was a harmonious combination that left us feeling completely satisfied...
Read moreWe had a wonderful dining experience at Rosami. The atmosphere and décor were beautiful. The wine list was great for wine lovers, offering a fantastic selection at very reasonable prices. Initially, we considered to go for a wine pairing by the glass but ended up choosing a bottle due to the great selection. Unfortunately, by the time we made our decision, the first two courses had already been served. While this was slightly disappointing, it might have been due to the sommelier being unavailable that evening or perhaps because we took a little too long browsing the wine list.
That said, the service was otherwise excellent — attentive, friendly, and always ready to answer any questions we had about the food or wine.
The food itself was outstanding. From the beautiful presentation to the exceptional flavors, every dish showed great finesse and mastery. The combinations weren’t overly experimental, but they were classic and delicious. They did a fantastic job accommodating our allergies, even creating different courses for us where necessary, which we greatly appreciated. Most restaurants simply adjust the entire menu for everyone when there’s a dietary restriction, but here, they tailored individual courses — a rare and special touch.
We enjoyed an 8-course tasting menu, which included an additional starter and a cheese course. The cheese course, a goat cheese ‘cheesecake’ wrapped in white chocolate with pumpkin seeds, was one of the highlights of the meal and definitely worth the extra courses.
The champagne from Giraud, served as an aperitif, was an excellent choice. The prices for water and espresso were also very reasonable.
Overall, an exceptional dining experience, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for refined, yet approachable cuisine with...
